Man, I did all that..I have many versions already burned into DVD-Rs.

I've tried Action Replay, but after activating the codes and put the game, only I see is a black screen.

I'll be thankful for any ideas :)

Only what I have are backups from my friend's original copies.

I dunno what they said about Gecko OS and GC games, but l used this video tutorial to get a virtual Action Replay to work on the Wii. It uses a custom MIOS, which is what the Gecko OS peoples were talking about once.

It practically is the actual AR Max without a need of a disc, but that also means it doesn't work with the games AR Max didn't work with before(Metal Gear, Star Fox Adventures, Wave Race...).

As far as I know, the AR isn't supposed to work with Game-BackUps, so you only got 2 Options:
1st: Put in your Original GC-Gamedisc, you got as a Present/Buyed yourself
2nd: Forget about Cheats with (illegally) downloaded Gamecube-Games.

For me, I've also got The AR to work, thanks to the MIOS, and it works with my purchased Discs perfectly.
Well, using the GC-ActionReplay, I'm having, requires the GC-Disc to be inserted before launching the AR-Launcher.

When it works, you should always have the (m)-Code active (that's the  "must-be-on-Code", most Gamecube Games need to work).

Some Guy

I apologize if this isn't the right place to ask this, or if the information is elsewhere, but I simply can't find it.

What is required to use Gamecube cheats with Gecko OS? Does it require a USB Gecko, or is the Gecko OS itself enough? How are Gamecube cheats used and created? Are they related to Action Replay codes? Can they be converted from them? And, if the answers to any of these questions are "no", could someone please provide a basic explanation as to why not?

Any answers along these lines would be much appreciated.

gamecube cheats in gecko os requires usbgecko unfortunately, but this doesn't mean you can't cheat with gamecube cheats on the wii. Simply look up "Action Replay 1.08 Loader" on google and look for the result that has "eurasia" in the link. This will be homebrew that will allow you to load gamecube games with cheats, as long as u have a gamecube memory card (that has enough leftover memory) in slot b. You do not need an action replay memory card at all. Unfortunately, the homebrew requires modification to the MIOS, which I think is some type of security for gamecube games on the wii system. Doing this is simple, just google or search on youtube "MIOS Patching Wad Installer" and search for instructions and tutorials on doing this. Modifying or replacing the MIOS might require you to downgrade to 3.2, so this WONT work on newer wiis unless there is a new MIOS patch. Also, the MIOS patch will disable video for gamecube games if u play them normally (as in using the disc channel to load them), so the only way to play gamecube games without cheats after installing the mios patch would be to load gamecube games using the action replay loader. So, what wii firmware do you have? (The number for the firmware shows up in the upper right corner in the wii settings). Also, do u have a newer wii that came with 4.2 firmware?

backups aren't going to work with action replay cheats. To get Action Replay to work, u need to patch the "MIOS" (a security thing the wii has for gamecube games that disables AR?) using "MIOS Patching Wad Installer". I cant and wont give u a link. "Google is your friend" and Youtube is useful for this too. Also, Im not sure if it will work with 4.2, unless security updates including ones that affect the MIOS and modifying the MIOS aren't installed in the 4.2 firmware u have.

i used dop mii to re install mios v4. i'm on system menu 4.0u lu 10 and i i have a lu 66 and my ar disk works on both

I was looking for codes for the game, but I don't know the game ID.

I was mainly looking for item codes; especially the code for the winch gate "handle" I somehow lost it, and now I can't get any further in the game...

Also do gamecube codes work with Gecko? Or would I need to download something different?

You need a USB Gecko to use Wiird codes on Gamecube games. If you have one, here's the scoop:

To use Gamecube Gecko OS codes, you will need Gecko OS Gamecube Edition.

There are several ways to do this ; for more info, visit THIS THREAD

If you need the Gecko OS ISO, here is a rar package (uploaded by mdmwii) which contains all three regions of Gecko OS GC ISO's.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OPMUV2ZL
Burn them with ImgBurn and load using GCBackup launcher. Wiird will now be able to upload GCT codes.
