Because it works on Gamecubes also, most games read from slot A first, then slot B. If slot B was a Gecko, it wouldn't be able to hold data, and you wouldn't be able to load/save. You'd have to take out the gecko, put in your memory card, load, take it out, put in the Gecko, and do it again when you want to save.
i think you got that backwards..... i think ou mean if slot A was Gecko, it wouldn't..... No, he got it right. The Slot A is read first, and if the Gecko was there... it wouldn't read the memory card, and there's a chance the console would auto-power off because of unknown device... Austin is right

It can use Slot A too, the EXI bus which the ports use has a different device ID so to speak, so if you change this device ID to slot A it will work.
I can make a config option for which slot to use in Gecko 2.0, what do you think?
The reason for Slot B, is SD Load used Slot A back in the GC times.
let me know about the A, B thing

well, some games have hooking issues.
CoD3 had hooking issues so 5 might also have them...
If you're using a backup that could be why, but we don't do support for pirates.

WLANUSBgecko would be great ^^ The USBGecko has a USB Interface; someone could try to solder a WLAN Interface (Gateway) and the IC needed for it (see WLAN USB Stick *victim* hehe :-))
My USB Cable is 2.10m long lol

If I remember correctly... it already takes a good bit of time to search through the game's coding with it connected by USB, and that's on a very fast computer... Using WLAN would take waaay too long, it wouldn't really be worth it.
