it does differ from game to game
but the hook type has nothing to do with it

Austin

so when searching for codes the wii makes that annoying sound like when your game crashes? hmm wierd...

Igglyboo

depends on the game
for example
in brawl it makes that noise
in super paper mario it does not

When you search for codes, it pauses parts of the Wii's execution cycle.  If the music handling is in part of the code which is paused, you get the beeeeeeep.

I always mute my games. Older ones, and non-nintendo games, usually don't have sound issues. Sound is loaded once by game, and is continued no matter what, ones where music depends on what's happening in game, usually has beep.

but if you use breakpoints it will pause the wii completely, even the music. :D

Dont whine about a beep, i have beeping constantly in my ears  :-[

No, I just press the Home button before searching for codes and there's no noise, because no music plays on the home button menu thing...
it also narrows down search results better :]
