This update stopped me from getting on my Wii entirely. It just stopped at the health thing and I can't get by it. I tired turining it off, puting a game in, and unplugging it.
Please help. :(
you may need a savemii or bootmii(when it comes out)

Quote from: Link on October 23, 2008, 03:22:42 PM-HBC still works after installation, Gecko OS also does
This is the only thing I wanted know... by the way, I tried 6-7 times to update the console, but always gived me an error on update...
I thought was a destiny sign.

By the way, tomorrow(this afternoon), will be Disaster Time! The game could install the new update...

If you tried everything, try to call Nintendo.
I don't know where you live, but probably is your right to do what you want with your hardware.

In Italy you can also mod your console to read copied games... Is completly legal, Sony lost a cause about this for PS2 modded with the only purpose to read pirated games...

Any homebrew depending on the fakesign bug stops functioning in the areas depending on this bug.

Sadly, Gecko OS depends on the bug for the rebooter function.  In other words, if you wish to have the rebooter function, don't update.  (Or if you are going to update, install cIOS first.  With that installed, you can then dump the first 200 MBs of a recent game, and extract the IOS wads from it, for downgrading purposes.  This method has been proven to work, as long as cIOS is installed, since cIOS does support the fakesigning bug required.)

Do you get an Opera error screen or does just nothing happen?

thanks to Bush. we now have even stricter pirating laws. (as if they weren't strict enough) and yes modchips fall in to that area. you can mod your console (cosmetic or chipped) but if they can prove you've used ANY backup (legal or not) they could file a law suit.

Any reason that you would need the fakesigning bug for installing old updates?  I would think that the updates themselves should have valid signatures, couldn't you just use the twilight hack to run the WAD manager and install the old IOS files using the wad files from a game disc?

Edit: NVM, missed this:
Quote from: Link on October 23, 2008, 03:22:42 PM-downgrade using WAD manager or related tools to 3.2 or 3.3 does not seem to work

Anyone know if this is due to the method the WAD manager is using to install the WAD files, or if the IOS has actually been patched to prevent reinstallation of old versions?

A Quick fix!

...read carefully and do what you want with that!

I can confirm that this works (if you haven't already installed the update...), thanks for the link!
