I am wondering if there's any way of installing Bootmii as boot2.I've been wanting to install usbloader and neogamma, but you need to install plenty of different IOS.I'm afraid to install any of those for the fact that my wii can get bricked so...any suggestions?

If you run the HackMii Installer through an exploit like Bannerbomb, or just through the Homebrew Channel, it will tell you if you can install BootMii as boot2.  The 4.2 System Menu has nothing to do with the ability to install BootMii as boot2.  Your version of boot1 has to have a certain bug present (signing bug, I believe) to make a boot2 install.  If you can already install BootMii as boot2, you will always have the ability to do so.  If you can't already install as boot2, then you likely will never be able to do so.

If you can't install as boot2, I would still recommend installing BootMii as an IOS, making and verifying a NAND backup, and saving the NAND backup, along with your keys.  This could come in handy with a potential brick, but hopefully it doesn't come to that.

If you can't figure out if you can install BootMii as boot2 or not, then post the "installer.log" file that the HackMii Installer will generate on the root of your SD card.

Oh ok i've checked but the hackmii installer doesn't let me install as boot2 but thanks anyway.

But is there  a chance of my wii getting bricked if i install custom IOS'es like for usb loader?

you need the "auto boot disc" to unbrick your wii if you only can install bootmii as IOS.
it boot u into the pink fish menu and u can reflash your wii again.
maybe there is a mod to start bootmii via auto boot disc.

it's very dangerous to install cIOS without bootmii2.
if you want to install it, try darkcorp. (100% brick blocker).
use cIOS rev19 mengerd IOS 36.

We generally frown upon backup loaders in this forum.  However, I do believe there is a risk of bricking with cIOS.  There are many versions and it can be confusing, and if you do it wrong then HBC could end up upside down or you could get bricked.  There are also IOS stubs to look out for.

As long as you follow the proper tutorials, nothing can go wrong.
Since the brick only occurs when you edit/remove the IOS the System Menu is using.

Priiloader is not a substitute for BootMii, they work in a complete different way and their purposes are different too.
Like with BootMii you can save/restore the wii's memory, which you can't with PriiLoader.

Yes i know but you can also use bootmii to start before the system menu and use that if you get bannerbricked from a bad wad.Priiloader can do that to.
