How do I get the OS on Vista? My Wii also has been updated to 4.0.

Um.. Gecko OS is a Wii application and thus has nothing to do with Vista!
Is your Wii homebrew ready?

SynysterBlood

Not yet I've been trying to figure that too, the disc that comes with the Gecko doesn't install nothing on my pc. I also have modded my Wii with the DriveKey and have been told I will not need to do the TP hack for homebrew, but I've also seen that homebrew has disabled by update 4.0?

The CD does not have auto play.. you need to attach your USB Gecko and it should ask you for installing drivers. If the drivers for some reason do not install get new drivers at http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/D2XX.htm

Partially correct.. please look up instructions on how to use the Hackmii installer in conjunction with banner bomb - this should work on 4.0!

Romaap

You have to use the HackMii installer to install the HomeBrew Channel.
You will need BannerBomb to load the installer.

First you have to download BannerBomb and the HackMii installer.
Unzip the "private" folder from the BannerBomb zip to the root of your SD card, then open the HackMii installer zip and unzip "installer_beta1.elf" to the root of your SD card and rename it to "boot.elf".

SynysterBlood

Ok by root of SD do you mean just put it on there? I'm new to this sorry for all the ?'s just dont want to mess up and brick my wii

Yes root means top folder.. so if your SD card is z:\ then it's z:\boot.elf
