Hi guys.
Something really unbelievable is happening to me.
I've always had my USB Gecko in the Slot-A of my Wii and all seemed to work fine.

Today I tried to turn on my Wii but almost immediately my Wii seemed to lost the electricity as if someone had pulled the plug from the electrical outlet.
To reset the situation I need to pull the plug out for real.

However after I had unplug all the cables from my console (and also the USB Gecko) I tried another one to turn on the console and this time it worked.

So if I put the USB Gecko in one of the Wii's Slot the console will lost the power and I'am not able to turn it on.
If the USB Gecko is not in a Slot all works normally.

Can anyone please tell me what's going on?

No USB Gecko no new cheats !!!   :(

All my codes are made to work with Gecko, Coverfloader and WiiFlow... not sure about others !!!

Does it turn on if you put it in slot B (where it's supposed to be)?

Apache81

No. As I said the wii lost power if the USB Gecko is plugged in any of the Wii Slot.

Ok, just another thing: if the Wii is on and I put the USB Gecko in one of the Slot the console will lose the power !!!

That's crazy. Your gecko is probably shorting...

If you can get a friend and plug it into their Wii you can tell if it's the Gecko Hardware or the System Software.

It's more than likely your gecko is broken. =(

I've also thought that... however I hope that's not the case 'cause to be able to buy this one in my contry was a pain and I don't think I'm able to find another one !!!  :(

Ok... tested on another Wii and it does the same thing.

At this point I'm going to try to buy another USB Gecko hoping that this time won't be so difficult.

Too bad for the broken one  :(

Hey Apache, if you're giving up on the old one, would you mind breaking open the case and taking a few pictures of the PCB top and bottom?  If you post them, one of us hardware types might be able to take a glance and tell you if it can be salvaged.

Apache81

Sure !!!
I'll do it as soon as possible :)

Please, let me know if you see something strange.

Everything looks good to me...most of the time, if electronics fail, it's pretty obvious why.  I don't see anything obvious.  However, I can't see into the connector...

Judging from this, though, I would wager that your USB cable might be bad.  Have you tried plugging the USB Gecko in without a USB cable attached to it?

You really should resize those pictures, or at least put them in spoiler tags
If there's any code at all that you want to be button activated, or even able to toggle on & off, and I have the game, just PM me and I'll make it happen

Yes. I tried to put it without the USB cable inserted and yes... it does the same thing: the console will have no power.
I'm thinking to send it to you just for the sake of the science because if this behaviour is so strange, maybe it will be good to take a deeper look at it.
