I need help with something and I have theory. Please help me out.

 I'm having trouble finding co-ordinates. I tried increasing height then searching increased value etc. but I don't know what bit I need or how to search for x and y co-ords. And my theory (unrelated):
1-hit ko (got the idea while playing paper mario. First off, can you c hange what address writes? Because my theory is to store enemies remaining health in registers of an unchanging address and then to edit what writes to an enemy's address so that this value is subtracted. Is this possible? And if so could you explain how to change which address writes and how to make it into a code? Thanks!

Have you seen this video tutorial? This could help you by giving an example of finding the address and change the codes that write to that address.

Yeah... I've seen it. Sadly it doesn't tell you if my theory is possible. Thanks for your help though.
