Ok I've done multiple searches on the forums and scanned through the first couple of pages of this Help section and I haven't resolved my problem so I'll ask here.

How does the Remove No Copy Flag work exactly? I understand the fact that it 0s a bit flag on save data which prevents it from being copied to an SD, but like when you Reboot your system through Gecko OS with it enabled, when/where does this take effect?

My Wii is on System Menu 4.0, but I have downgraded all the needed IOS, and the reboot process works (I tested the Button Skip Option which worked). I can also run games/channels through Gecko, so I don't believe it's a IOS issue.

Since I'm not sure how it works I tried opening the Memory Management option in the Wii System Menu and none of the games I wanted to copy (which were copy protected) could be copied. And I also tried running the game after rebooting and allowing the game to save also and still no effect.

More specifically I really am wanting to copy a WiiWare Save File (which is protected), but that's besides the point since I can't copy any protected saves regardless.

The copy flag is for copying games from the Wii to SD isn't it?

Any light on my problem would be much appreciated.

well, the gecko OS remove copy flag doesn't work on 4.0... I suggest installing the preloader and using the 4.0 hacks for it, they work I have tested.

Wells which IOS gets affected by the copy flags? Would it be the System Menu IOS?

[edit]

Nevermind. Installed Preloader, thanks for the help.

Now I can start editing save files :)

Kinda useless for what I'm doing :p How about editing the actual data.bin files copied to your SD! Much more user friendly. That's what I'm doing anyways (specifically so I can hack Pokemon Ranch muhahaha)
