Bars, oh how I love thee.  Castlevania Games are pretty simple and straight forward with health bars. If you wanted to try something more simplier with bars try a Mega Man game. Health codes have a simple format. You see 16 bars on the screen. Normally you would do an 8-Bit search for 10 (16), but sometimes in games bars also represent an amount of HP. HP is known as health points/hit points. I have had previous work on the Castevania series so I already know each bar is worth 4 HP. Since you start out with 16 bars, your going to multiple 16 by 4 to give you 64. Convert 64 into hexidecimal to give you 40.  Your going to do a 8-Bit search for 40. Now you should have atleast 100 results, but now your basis is starting. I am assuming your playing from the first stage of the game so enemy damge max is like 2HP Damage per hit. Let’s say you get hit a couple times, and now you have 12 bars. 12 multipled by 4 is 48. Your going to do a search for 30. You should come up with atleast less then 20 results.  Get hit in the game some more in the game, NOT REAL LIFE! Let’s say you have 9 bars left.  9 multipled by 4 is 36.  Do an 8-Bit search for  24. You should only have 1 result left, if not no more then a handful.  Ocassionally some games have 2 health addresses like Street of Rage III, but you will notice that in a couple of VC games.

Max Hearts, it's pretty simple. Look at the value on the screen. Get a couple hearts, let's say you have... 8 hearts. Do a search for 08.  Kill a couple enemies, break a few candles. Now you have 20 Hearts. Do a search or 14. you should have less then 4 or 5 results. 1 or 2 searches usually finds you the code.

Have Upgrade Whip. I actually like this code because no one even thinks of it. Everyone is too busy making health and hearts or Item Modifer.  KNow Castlevania or just playing it a couple times you know the Whip gets 2 upgrades usually right away so no one cares about it. But I do, so here is how to ind it. Break the candle and the upgrades drops, pick it up and do an 8-Bit search for 01. You'll need up with a couple hundred results.  Get the 2nd upgrade and do a search for 02. You'll probably get around 50 results. Now die in the game, not in real life. Get your first upgrade and do the search for 01. You should have like less then 20 results. Pick up your 2nd upgrade and do the search for 02. You should have the result :)
