Yes, you may think that I'm a novice and that it's my fault, but this happened to a friend of mine. He has a Wii with a modchip, and yesterday he tried to boot an original Brawl game from Gecko 1.9 but it says ERROR: no DVD found. He wanted to use texture hacks. Why it doesn't boot the game? The configuration is the same as I have, which works perfectly. This only happens with Brawl, which is double layered. With Mario Galaxy didn't happen...

Is it because he has a mod-chip (Argon)? Does it happen with all mod-chips or my friend had bad luck? Please, explain it to me.

dual layer games are more sensitive to laser defects and you'll probably need to clean the laser. especially if it's only in ssbb.

Smoke of all kinds screws up with the lasers so try and keep your wii in a clean environment.

Check out my site with codes obviously...

if he has a modchip, then try using ssbb on DVD5 (single layered dvd)

do NOT pm me to request a code or if you have any problems with my code.

hi i'm geting this error with or w/o codes and on every game i put in my wii.
all i use is gecko for codes, and homebrew chan. i'm on 3.3u without oct 23 update.
any help would be nice.

Nuke

try to boot with an older version of Gecko OS, if still the same. Then check to see argon has an updated firmware, you could be on an older firmware.

There is no difference between how Gecko 1.8 and Gecko 1.9 reads discs.  Also Gecko 1.8/1.9 makes no changes to your Wii, so the problem is likely that your drive lens and/or game disc is dirty.
