Some questions about Gecko OS

Hello, I have a japanese wii (firmware 3.2j) modded with d2c key and just recently installed HBC and Gecko OS.  There are some questions that I need answered.

1.)  Say I want to play a USA wii backup do I stilll need to WBB the iso before playing it? or does Gecko OS skip the update firmware part? I am afriad the firmware update will brick my Wii but I also don't want to burn isos that are modified :mad:

2.)  For games like Resident Evil Chronicles (usa iso shows japanese text in my japanese wii) do I need to wiifrii to force it to show in english then burn it? or Gecko OS can do it for you (regular untouched usa iso)?
