Hombrew Channel App(s) Issues

Firstly, if I'm asking in the wrong place, please tell me, and kindly do me the favor of sending me there.

I've been lurking on this board for a number of days.  The topic of Wii hacking has become interesting to me because I remember several months ago hearing that it couldn't happen (this was in response, however, to questions on the non-existent AR Wii).  I figured I would try to install the homebrew through the homebrew channel, and would use Ocarina to aid in my "quest".  The first night I used the HBC, it worked fine.  Your codes, which I am ever thankful for, were near flawless, and provided enjoyment to a higher degree.  However, later that night, an oddity occurred.  Ocarina would not load at all.  I restarted the Wii, tried the homebrew browser, and the same thing occurred.  Mystified, I uninstantiated and reinstalled the HBC.  For a day, the aforementioned success continued.  However, yesterday, it stopped, again.  No app would load.  My question is why, and hoe do I fix it?  Any help is greatly appreciated.
As some additional info, I already tried switching SD cards.  Same thing happened.

TL;DR: Apps don't work.  How can that be fixed?

Do you have a GC memory card in the memory card slot?

if there is anything in slot b of the gcn memory card slot the HBC will assume it's a USB Gecko and will try to load from it but since there are no files from ocarina on it it will never load. To fix this take it out and reset your wii and look at the icon at the bottom right. if the Globe is lit up then it will load from sd card, if the Gecko is lit then it wont work without a USB Gecko

you're welcome to be honest i did the same thing when the HBC first came out, but i figured it out when i saw the things at the bottom lol
