Brick Protection Options?

Ok, so to start off, I bought a second Wii, (used) from someone, but it has a newer version of boot1. This version of boot1 disables any chances of installing BootMii as boot2. As I understand it, BootMii as IOS is pretty much useless when it comes to Brick Protection.

Are there ANY other options for Brick Protection for one of these Wiis? I've heard of Preloader, (or Priiloader or whatever) but haven't ever used it, nor do I know how it works, or whether it even compares to BootMii @boot2.

Thanks!

don't install/uninstall shit. run from HBC. best brick protection

Stay away from messing with system menus and IOSs used by it. Only install stuff by the official way.

Also, don't mess with wii channels, as it can lead to banner brick in worst cases.

I didn't really plan on mass installing Wads, or anything stupid, it's just that things can happen, and I feel safe with Bootmii as Boot2.

I've never had any luck with Sneek, though. It's never worked properly! :P
Either way, doesn't Sneek require Bootmii as Boot2? o.o

Hm, I don't think that's a requirement? There are people using neek2o (a project based on sneek) with newer wiis that don't have the older boot2... http://code.google.com/p/custom-di/

But if neither sneek nor neek2o works for you then I'm sorry
