An Interesting and Abnormal Problem.

Just to tell you what hardware I got:
NTSC Wii, Running 4.3 System Menu and the latest version of Homebrew. Installed Homebrew via the "Return of the Jodi" exploit. Followed setup guide, as seen on WiiBrew.org, exactly step by step.

Now to the problem:
My problem is a weird one. I will admit. So lets start from when I turn on my Wii.

I hit the power button. It goes directly to BootMii. Can't get my controller to register, so I hit reset. It then goes to the regular System Menu, and I enter Homebrew. I have installed Accio Hacks and Gecko OS via the Homebrew Browser. Now when I load Accio Hacks, the usual reconnecting of the WiiMote occurs. After it reconnects, it is still at the black screen. A minute later, it is still at the black screen. (I know this is abnormal) I then hit home, back to the Homebrew Menu, and Select and load Gecko OS. The Mote disconnects, but never reconnects. The black screen just stays there.

The twist is that any other non-hacking app works fine.

Is it the fact that IOS36 is not yet patched, or something bigger? Any help is appreciated from anybody on this forum.

Thanks in Advance,
MxP

When you go into boot-mii you have to use the power button to select which 'option' you want.

It also depends on what controller you're using. Bootmii will not recognize the wiimote or CCPlus.

Pressing Reset will be the 'accept' button, so pressing reset will normally take you to the System menu because that's what you told the wii to do.

As far as accio hacks goes, I don't use it so I'm not sure what's up with that. Maybe you have a bad file on your SD or something.

Patching ios's is not very bright you run the risk of bricking the wii, as for your problem reinstall the apps WITHOUT the homebrew browser. The homebrew browser is not the best way to get apps.(my opinon) Wiibrew is where I get all of my apps from. I'm not 100% sure on this but the browser can sometimes not connect to the server properaly. That can cause half installed apps. Also what type of SD card is it?

A Sandisk SD Card.

I'll try reinstalling the apps from Wii Brew, But that shouldn't have to happen though....

hmmmm. Did you make a nand back up? If so use that do roll back your wii to it's state while homebrew is first installing. That way you can start fresh.

So I don' t brick my Wii, which button in BootMii is it?

Patedj

it's the one with the arrow pointing out of the rectangle.
You can pm me, I've got time for your troubles.

Ok, I did it. I re-installed all apps, but GeckoOS and Accio Hacks still goes to a black screen. The only hacking apps that seem to work are Wiicm and GeckoOS 1.07b.... (GeckoOS 1.07b loads up, reads the disc, then gives error #002)

I am about to yell right now, nothing seems to work...

The first time I boot, I go to a black screen.  I have to reboot the Wii at least once before anything works.  Every time.

Gecko OS 1.9 loads to a black screen, and Wiicm freezes when I exit the veiwing of a code-filled text file... Maybe  I Wasn't meant to hack my wii...
