Let's say I wanted to post an image (or 2) of my gecko-dotnet window screen capture (.tiff) on wiird...
How would I do this?
Oh, and for attachments on this forum, do they have to be .zip files or something? Often times I will get an error when trying to attatch a file.

Attachments were disabled in the past as people used them to intrude the forums - unfortunately allowing attachments can create a security hole - however, I am basically considering allowing attachments of ZIP or RAR files again - simply: those will always be sent to the client, rather than being executed on the server side so they should not do any harm. Besides the attacks on the forum seem kinda over - many of you might have noticed a few downtimes in the last 2 weeks, however, those are not because of DoS attacks they were because of a misconfigured service application on the server which essentially took more and more CPU as well as RAM the longer it ran  - so in essence the server did not crash or whatever it just became slower and slower.

I definitely noticed those. Thanks for the information!
I am in favor of allowing zip and rar files.

I too agree that .zip / .rar files should be allowed; it would make it easier for us to upload images.

Well, I assume, attachments will be reactivated soon - however, I am currently having troubles updating the forum. We're running 1.1.11, 1.1.12 is out though.
However, thanks to the attacks in the past and broken addons, the update refuses to work. Thus I will do a backup of everything on the week-end and do a reinstall of the forum including the database. Changes should not exist, however it would mean the forum would restart running on an unmodified base. The database seems intact, just multiple files are just damaged.

Good! Thanks Link!

Were those attacks on the DB aimed directly at Wiird? Or is it some kind of widespread virus (or automated attack)?
And on that note; who in the world even makes viruses anyways? or attacks a forum?
