Alrighty, this is kind of a long story. So I'll make it short.

I got my Wii, v3.2U January 2009. It was easily hacked, and one day bricked. I did not know how it bricked, in fact, It bricked when I came back from vacation [July 2010] when no one was home, so It must've died earlier or so, unnoticed. (fail o.o) I never had brick protection, but I was fine, as my method to trick Nintendo into thinking it had a waranty always worked. So, I sent it in with my fake waranty November 28, 2010, and of course (as it always has worked in the past :3) they fixed it. I recieved it December 19, however it was now V4.3U, with all my data gone. (Oh well screw the data :D) I thought my homebrewing days were over when I noticed the "DO NOT UPDATE 4.3U" However, 4.3U just prevented all types of DVD-R Backup loading. I did the SSBB USA Smashstack, and it worked. A tutorial said to downgrade to 4.1U, so I did. Then I though, why not downgrade to 3.2U, like before? So I did, however then I learned my wii was now boot2v4. Apparently, that means I can NOT downgrade or I will brick, but I didn't brick! (Nintendo : wtf hax ???) My wii, before I sent it to Nintendo, (aka before 2010) was boot1.

The Problems [ZOMG! xP]
Q1: I tried to use my infected disk (I revampted a game and made an ISO) with many Backup Loaders. I even tried DarkCorp 1.1 Full, with no prevail. Must I use the USB Method to play my own custom-made games?
Q2: Gecko OS 1.7b, and 1.9.3.1 DO NOT work for one of my games, Call of Duty : Black Ops. Any solutions?

*NOTE I UPGRADED BY 3.2U TO 4.0U BEFORE I KNEW ABOUT HOMEBREW, HOWEVER IT WAS 3.2U WHEN IT DIED BEFORE 2010*

Thanks,

*EDIT: Should I patch my IOS36? Its 3.2U now, but was recieved as 4.3U...*

I use 4.2U. There is no reason to have it at 3.2U (afaik).

Q2: A: Update your Wii.

I completely create a new game. Of course though, I'll use the source code of a game at first. (Or at least bits. :P)

Basically if your Wii already has boot2v4 and whatever, it is safe to stick to 4.3U - it is incorrect that IOS36 in old versions do not run with boot2v4 - they do not work with boot1v2. Please check if you can install BootMii as boot2 - if you can then your Wii still has the old boot1 (they cannot update boot1 - if you have the new boot1 then rather than fixing your Wii they completely replaced it!). Under these circumstances, DVD-R loading is not possible anymore, that's also correct (modern Wiis cannot be modified with modchips nor is it possible to use DVD-R backup loaders - USB loaders works)!

Your best approach would be: stick to 4.3 if you have the HBC.. if you require channel loading you can downgrade IOS36 which should not harm Gecko OS, at least it does not do so for me (I use priiloader to suppress game updates so games do not attempt to update IOS36)! For your game: Use IOS58 which has native USB 2.0 support and use USB harddrives for it - if the game is small, SD cards will also do fine.
