Write BP Never triggered

I have a memory address that ends up with value A.  I can set write BPs on the address for other values that are written to it and they trigger, but the one value I'm interested in never triggers a write BP.  I've tried "exact match" and ANY register equal to some value.  Whenever the write BP triigers, I've looked at the instruction being executed, verified that the register being written was not the value of interest based on the instruction being executed and then selected Set Breakpoint to get to the next instruction writing the address.  I never see anything close to the value that is finally at the memory address.
