How to use USB Gecko

Ok, so I just bought a USB Gecko and I was hoping to learn as much as I can till I get it. I have had HBC on my wii for about 2 years now so I do know a bit about hacking, I mostly play Mario kart wii and I have the ram dumps for it. I was really hoping someone could help teach me how to make my own hacks, and I do know some basic stuff about hex codeing but nothing real major. Any information you have would be great, thanks!
