I have several games that keep giving me error messages.  It doesn't do it on every game, and it even gives me the error message on new games, so I think my ios is corrupted.  I don't know much about how to fix this, so could someone help me out?

i haven't hacked or made any custom ios, so i believe it's just regular.

A few questions:

1. Are you loading the games with Gecko OS?
2. If so, do you have the latest version? (1.9.3)
3. What is the error message?
4. Have you tried loading the game without Gecko?

what happens is this:

I put a game in the wii and I go to the disc channel. Then one of several things happens:

1. The game loads and plays fine.
2. The game loads and then after a while of playing it tells me that an error has occured.
3. My wii tries to read the disc, but can't, then says to insert a wii disc.
4. As soon as my wii reads the disc, the sound stops for a small moment, then two seconds later it says "an error has occured" on the wii menu
5. Some games work perfectly no matter what.

Gecko OS does pretty much the same thing.

I'm really not sure if the ios are corrupted.  I just guessed that the ios might be messed up because it doesn't affect every game.

Sounds like a dirty lens. You need to clean the disk drive.

There are official cleaning kits for this purpose.

I've cleaned the lens several times with one of those cleaning kits, but that never really helps.  If I could open it up to clean it out, I would do that, but there are two triwing screws that are impossible to remove without the triwing screwdriver, so I can't get inside.  I may have to send it in to get it fixed since I've been dealing with this for over a year, but I don't want to since that would cost like $80 and I wouldn't have a Wii for 3 weeks.

If it helps, my problems started around a year ago when I installed DVDx.

All I need help with is finding out which ios to replace.  Is there a list on the internet somewhere that tells which games use which ios?
