I installed the latest Gecko OS and download a couple of cheat code files via Codedownloader and they appear in Cheat Manager, however, everytime I select the cheats I want to use and press the 1 button on the Wii remote to generate a .gct file, it comes up with an error message saying:

"/codes/R2TE4/ gct can not open!"

Why am I getting that error message?

Also, I do not see any option to launch a channel in Gecko, but I read here that there is supposed to be an option for that.  I also did not see a Rebooter option in Gecko.  I want to make it so that I can copy non-transferable saves.  How do I do that?

Any help on this stuff would be greatly appreciated.  I am a noob at this stuff.  Thanks.
EDIT: I tried using Gecko 1.9.0.1 and I got Rebooter and Channel on the screen that way, but no matter what Hook I set it up with (even Default or No Hook), it always comes up with "Error cannot load menu".  Why is this happening?  Are there any other homebrew apps. that will allow me to transfer non-transferable saves?

I don't know about the error message with the Code Downloader.  However, I'm guessing that you are on the 4.0 firmware or higher, which is why the Rebooter and channel loading is not working.  I've been away for awhile, so I'm not sure if there is a way to fix this or not.

As for saving non-transferable saves, you could try using the Savegame Extractor to save the unencrypted save file to your SD card.  If you ever need to place it back onto the console, use the Savegame Installer.

Thanks for the info.  I got the codes to work.  I forgot to put a "codes" folder on the root of my SD memory card.  Sadly, the Save Game Installer doesn't copy "data.bin" formatted gamesaves and those are the only gamesaves I've found on the Internet.  Is there another app. I can use that will copy "data.bin" save game files from my SD memory card to my Wii system?  Or an app. that can make non-transferable saves transferable/copyable?

Thanks.

EDIT: BTW, I found out that my Wii System Menu is 4.2.  The Homebrew Channel works though.
