Hi guys, great forum. I have a problem and hopefully you can help me.

I just bought an Usb Gecko but it seems that my Wii does not recognize it. Latest Gecko OS 1.9.1 in the about screen says NO USB GECKO.
Also previous Gecko OS versions lock up, unless i unplug it, then gecko os shows up, replug it but no success.

Windows recognizes it correctly, but im unable to do anything. I did plug it to slot B.

Am i missing something? Did i do something wrong?

I have a 4.0 Pal system with restored trucha bug using DOP Ios, Cios 222 and 249 v13b, bootmii v2 installed on boot2, ltest HBC. All works fine..

Thanks a lot.

I also tried to downgrade System Menu to 3.2 but still no success (restored using bootmii backup).Gecko Os 1.9.1 still says USB GECKO NOT FOUND.

Can someone give a hint please?

Thank again

..i also tried it on another Wii.. same setup, still USB GECKO NOT FOUND..

I am willing to return as it broken to the dealer who sold it to me, unless someone is so gentle to give me a hint.

Thanks again.

Thanks, i tried.. nothing.. Gecko OS still says USB GECKO NOT FOUND.

Windows instead shows it correctly. And Wiird seems to recognize it, but then get a 0x00 as server response and quits.

..damn.. i have searched everywhere without luck... sending this back to Spain will cost me more than buy a new one... I hope the reseller did not rip me off...

Thanks again..

Really none wants to help me?

Thanks..

could be 2 things, PCB is not aligned, i.e sometimes in transit it comes loose, so you need to open it and put the PCB straight so its aligned again. A pain i know but it does open with some force.

If not that then its faulty as Gecko OS will detect in any port if inserted correctly.

Let me know how you get on.

I hope you installed the drivers that came with the CD ;)

Windows will recognize that it found a new hardware, but it will have no idea what to do with it until you install those drivers.

Furthermore, if Windows can not figure out what to do with the hardware, then a map, T(Windows) = Wii, is not possible.

Make sure you installed the drivers correctly, just putting in the CD and hoping everything worked out may not cut it!

Good luck ^_^

Thanks guys...

@Nuke.. i have tried what you suggested.. no luck... also i noticed that HBC takes almost 20 seconds to load up with usb gecko inserted into slot B.. Older versions of Gecko OS lock up until i unplug usb gecko..

@ Zetta_X... Windows recognizes and installs it correctly. Also Wiird seems to initialize it...

Any other suggestion?

Thanks again.

You have to manually install the drivers using the cd provided

Thanks,

as previously stated, i did install the drivers and windows shows it up correctly in the peripherals panel. I also tried to upgrade to latest drivers.

Again, windows side seems ok. My wii not.

Thanks again.
