4.0U Update? (total newb here)

I am considering purchasing USB Gecko in order to use cheating devices on my Wii (mainly to mess around with Smash Bros. for fun). However, I foolishly updated my Wii Menu to 4.0U without thinking about it.

I've never attempted any sort of hacking on my Wii before. I know I can't use the Twilight hack or install the Homebrew Channel with this new update, but since the USB Gecko is actual hardware rather than something you load onto an SD Card, would I be able to use Gecko OS on my Wii?

(If the answer is no, you can just lock this; I feel like I'm asking an incredibly dumb question.)

No, a USB Gecko will not do this.  You will still need an exploit in order to run GeckoOS, and use the USB Gecko.  Hopefully, a new 4.0 exploit comes out soon.

Well, I have an idea for an exploit, I'm not completly sure if it works though, but I'll tell it;
You know that when we play a new games on our wii(a game the wii hasn't played before, and it's from a disk), we download a new update(unless we load with Gecko OS), and from what I have seen, the disk includes it instead of downloading it from the internet, so if we made a disk including only the 3.2 update and something extremely short that the wii can save so it's possible to use the disk, then we name the update 4.1 even though it include the data of 3.2, we might be able to downgrade the wii  ;D
