I was never able to get any EXP cheats no matter how hard i tried with this game. The closest i came to getting an enormous amount of EXP was with the 'Always 65535 Combo during Battle Victory screen' which will have you up to level 100 before you know it.

Miscellaneous

These are the EXP cheats i managed to hack from this game, trouble with them is that they are only displayed on the Battle Victory screen so your character's will never benefit from them unfortunately. While it looks really cool to have enormous amounts of EXP displayed, i personally found the tease factor with these codes irritating cause in reality, i would like to have my cake and eat it too! Maybe one day i will get around to them, anyway i put them up for those who might like to look at large numbers, enjoy!

A lot of those codes already exist for AR GCN. But, if you went and found the addresses yourself; I suppose that's alright.

A tip for Infinite Gald: set it so that you have 88,888,888 Gald. Then, you have unlimited Gald and can still open those chests with Gald in them.

045B68C0 054C5638

Also, what region are these from? (NTSC, PAL?)

Hi Hawkeye2777

There are AR GCN codes for this game out there but none of the PAL ones actually work, i have tried to convert them with GCNcrypt by Parasyte and AR to WiiRD by James0x57 but i get nothing from them. Also, PAL codes for this game is something of a rarity for some reason :cry.

As with my previous Fire Emblem - Path of Radiance codes, proper credits will be given :) if i can convert and get the codes working from AR GCN codes.

Thanks for your advice on unlimited Gald, i have re-edited the code :clap, if you know of any other codes i might have missed out on please let me know so i don't pull another no sleep until 4 in the morning

That's odd; did you remove the verifier line? They should work ok. No biggie though. I was just asking. :)

I haven't really worked with TOS yet, so I'm not too familar with the coding. However, if you need help with those EXP or Combo codes, try finding a code for NTSC that is similar. Then, you can see how the code was made, and make your code that way. If you need any help, don't hesitate to ask. I'll try and help you out. I'm still learning how to do a few extra things on Gamecube myself. ;)

Thanks Hawkeye2777, it is good to know i have your support with this game, it is a pain in the ass really how i cannot get the EXP code in anyway possible regardless of methods i use. Even pointer search failed on me, then again pointer search only ever had 1 code to try to find which i don't think is how it is meant to work.

I did remove the verifier line but the codes i got off the net (other than NTSC) did not have a region to them so i got excited and started converting only to be disappointed :cry

This one looks to be even longer than my Fire Emblem - Path of Radiance thread :cry

Hi Bob83b

No worries, just remember that this thread isn't finished yet. I believe that there are 5 more characters to go and i am only halfway (i hope lol :lol) through disc 1.

There is codes for the PAL version that works, but only for the German & French versions of Tales of Symphonia.

Heres the link to the codes :
http://board.gscentral.org/showthread.php?t=9002

(Thanks GSCentral). Now you have to convert them to Wiird / Ocarina (or decrypt them if you prefer).

By the way, what's the game's ID for the Code Manager and Gecko OS ?

 Tales of Symphonia (GQSEAF) PAL

The game ID would be GQSEAF and this is an English PAL version hence my statement of how rare it is to come across respective GC AR codes, I would have much rather convert codes than stay up until 4 AM searching them out to be honest. Also, with most games regardless of whether it is PAL or NTSC, a different language can and most of the time will mean different codes.

I am not aware of any other ID or Code Managers that are required for Gecko OS. If you are referring to Master Code, neither USB Gecko nor Ocarina require one.

If you are using Ocarina, i am very sure it won't work with the Ocarina program by itself if that is what you are trying to do. The old Ocarina stand alone does not support GC mode but you do have an option now.

As far as i know, there is a new Ocarina that is bundled with Gecko OS so try downloading that from the downloads section:

http://www.usbgecko.com/files/geckoOS16f.zip

Oh! One last thing - you did realize this is a Gamecube game right? It just popped to my mind that DS AR also requires Master Code.

Hopefully (my fingers are crossed for you) you are playing the same version with the same language as me cause come tomorrow i will be doing a HUGE update on this game that i hope will help people out there :irule:

If you have any other questions please feel free to ask :)

Well, the problem when converting the PAL (French / German version) codes for Wiird, I don't have the same result as you. There's three pal Tales of Symphonia and EACH have it's own codes (argh !).

There's UK, Italian and a "double" pack for French & German (same discs).

Understand why i put in all that effort now? By the way you didn't tell me if my codes work for you yet or you have a totally different version.

I haven't got much time now but when i get back from work i will be updating with all the items codes i found and trust me, when i say a HUGE update - i literally mean HUGE my eyes are still sore from last night and seeing that many hex.

This post was part 2/2 of the Infinite ALL codes that i ran out of room for and had to start a new post. Disregard this post and follow the post above this one.

I have left this as a reserve post on purpose  in case i run out of room again like i did yesterday.

It's a shame all the codes are not in a continuous manner, i never thought there was a 10000 words maximum limit placed on every post. Ah well, i guess so long as its here that is all that matters.

Why making such big codes ? ^_^
CST0: 8bits Write & Fill

00______ YYYY00XX : 8bits ram write and fill (ba) writes XX YYYY+1 times at ba+address

That means :

[Infinite All Items]
005B776E 0032000B
005B77B8 0009000B

[Infinite All Weapons]
005B77F4 000B000B
005B7801 007D000B

...

(btw, in the infinite all weapons, you write 3 times to 805B7829~805B783F ??).

I knew there must have been a shortcut to get from one the beginning of a range to the end but could never work it out. Well i am still trying to understand where you are coming from kenobi. Thanks for the info though i will look into it more and try to understand it.

I wrote Infinite All Weapons 3 times? LMAO my eyes were probably too sore seeing all that hex i didn't even notice. Corrections will be made soon.

Cool stuff gen. :)

Once I get into hacking this game, I'll help you make some cool codes for your version (which I plan on hacking for NTSC-U) if you'd like me to. Some of those codes include Instant Spell Cast codes. :)

Hawkeye2777

That is all the items in this game hacked. The only ones left i want to do are the missing 4-5 characters in the game i haven't come across yet. Also thinking of doing a few in battle meter codes.

You are very welcome to contribute if you want or do a NTSC-U version. Let me know what you decide. Of course, full credentials will be given, that goes without saying :)

What is it you don't get?

This thread should only be about Tales of Symphonia, if this is about what i think it is then it belongs with Ocarina help thread. If that is the case please do not post questions about Ocarina on this thread, it would be much better if you post on the appropriate thread or just PM (private message) me. You will get more help from heaps of other people rather than just me who checks in on this thread every now and then. :)

With that said, i am more than willing to help everyone :). I was once helped by many so i want to return the favor by helping out others :beer.

Hi, this code doesn't work for me.
I've a PAL game, (french version so sorry for my english). I try with GEcko OS 1.9.3.1. I put a correct gct file.
My config, Cios rev 17, Cmios v10, ciors corps 3.6 end trucha bug is on.
I have tried with ciosX rev 18; Cmios v5 and v8.
Unfortunatly, these code doesn't work.
If a person read this, I need help.

I realise this thread is pretty much dead.

Still, out of desperation, I'll go ahead and ask a question: Does anyone have any cheats for the GQSPAF version of the game? Even PAL AR codes won't work on it.

Max Gald, Infinite TP, anything.

You say that even PAL AR codes won't work on the game.

Which loader are you using? (The only ones that support Gamecube are Gecko OS Mod, and NeoGamma)
I recommend you use NeoGamma, as it uses a better code handler.

Secondly, as I understand, the PAL version of ToS had multiple versions. (Several different languages.)
Which version are you using, and are you using codes for the same language/version?

Title: Re: [Wiird] Tales of Symphonia [GQSEAF] PAL
Post by: Muntu on January 08, 2012, 07:35:51 PM
Tried with Gecko OS Mod and that Action Replay 1.14 "loader" (whatever the correct term is), neither worked. With the mod I tried the codes from the top of the first page, game launched and played normally, the cheats just didn't work. As for the Action Replay, I tried at first with a few codes from the ToS entry from UK Codejunkies, then a few codes from the ToS ITA page from the same site, and finally, I tried to simply launch ToS through AR with not one cheat active, and every try led to the same thing; a black screen. The game wouldn't launch at all through Action Replay, so I guess it just happens to be one of the games that don't work with it.

How much of a hassle converting AR codes to the format Gecko OS Mod and/or NeoGamma accept is? Or is it at all even possible? I was thinking of trying GOM or NeoGamma with the AR codes from UK Codejunkies.

Converting from GC AR to WiiRD/Gecko codes is usually simple.

Just decrypt the code using GCNcrypt and use James0x57's "AR to WiiRd codetype converter" to convert them to WiiRd.
(Be sure to remove the verifier line.)

I can go more in depth, if required.

Alright, thanks a bunch. I'll try it out right away.

A fairly promising start, I guess. With VI hook and Gecko OS Mod I can get infinite gald to work, and probably the other codes too. Shame the game crashes when I try to load memory card information :p

And now it works. Changed the memory card to slot A, didn't crash. For some reason it crashed when it was in slot B. Now to see which codes work, atleast I now have 99,999,999 gald already! Huge thanks to you goemon_guy, your were very helpful and way faster than I had hoped.

For cheating on GameCube games, you should really use NeoGamma instead.  Gecko OS Mod is out-dated.

Also, the USB Gecko is usually reserved for slot B, so that may explain why you were having problems.  Definitely use slot A for memory cards.
