basically the origin of the shops is only mentioned there however most shops export internationally.. I got mine from konsolenprofis.de and I know they would also export to all European countries

This has been bothering me, why an USB Gecko? It should be a USB Gecko, unless people are pronouncing it "ussb" all of a sudden...

modchipcentral.com sent mine in an envelope without the CD... No box or anything... I wouldn't recommend it as if they do it again it could break. Especially since my mail service is bad at keeping packages safe -.-

When E comes after g, the g majes a  j sound (sometimes)

English sucks and has lots of exceptions to the rules. You can't go off of what something should sound like in English.

If you think English is hard you should Dutch, thats a pain in the ass.

But enough talking about hard languages this is a topic about where to get a USBGecko

I don't think English is all that hard, it's just that there are way too many exceptions to the rules.

no its actually A usbgecko cos u only use add an N to A when te first letter of the firs word is a vowel.

e.g A yo-yo not an yo-yo
AN egg, not A egg.

correct U is a vowel but ur saying the letter not pronouncing the letter, and the letter U is pronouned YOO or YOU, Y isnt a vowel.

now bak on topic, where do u buy a usbgecko? online :P, jus kiddin, this questions been answered anyway

Title: Re: Where to get a USBGecko

GeckoOS has geckos on the background so unless you say Geckos as "jeckos" then I don't think Nuke would put Geckos in the background of a similar titles program...

that's like me naming my app CandyOS and putting Candy in the background because people like it, but it's really said with a Soft "C" and is pronounced SandyOS... that would be retarded.

Especially since we all know that Sandy is something tasty and will NEVER get confused with Candy... even when you do spell sandy with a "c".

that's wrong since technically, according to the dictionary, it's "A honest opinion" and not "AN honest opinion" even though honest has a silent "H" and a long "O" sound. The real reason it's not is because USB is an abbreviation so technically even if it made a "A" sound first and it sounded like a vowel even if "AN" sounded right it would be "A" because it's abbreviated.

It also depends on what English style you have, for example, one of my more classic English textbooks would say an USB Gecko was the correct way, however it sounds strange and most English would say a USB Gecko, although in canon English it would be an. BUT, the language is changing and using a is now acceptable according to many textbooks/dictionaries etc

Yeah...like I was saying...in "real" English you would say an honest opinion because the "h" is silent

This forum does not reflect on USBGecko as a business. In fact, this site isnt operated or hosted by the creators of the USBGecko at all. At best this is a technical fan-site. Dont let these forums reflect on weather or not to buy a USB Gecko or not.

Nuke, the main man behind the USB Gecko sales is a good man. Ive conversed with him, and will personally testify for his honesty! My USB Gecko broke and without even directly asking him he sent me a new one at his own expense...

They make COD codes now(3 & WaW for sure MW maybe), and you don't need a USBGecko to use them either, just to make codes. Install HBC and Gecko OS with Code Downloader and Cheat Manager and you are all set for disc based games. If you are on system version 3.2 or lower then you are also set for WiiWare/VC games and Rebooter. If you are on a higher system version then you can get WiiWare/VC game and Rebooter functionality back but there is a risk as it involves modifying your system's NAND. I have done it on all 3 of my Wii's, all of which are on 4.2 upgraded from 3.4 and are 2006, 2008, 2009 models that are D2A, D2C, & D2E based with no modchips running HBC 1.06 and Gecko OS 1.93, and none had any trouble. But that doesn't mean you won't, and you could end up with a FULL brick, so if you choose to do it I am not responsible as you made the decision to use the information. If you want to know how to do it PM me with as much info about your system as you know, so I know what to tell you, and I will PM you back the instructions. I am not posting it openly for 2 reasons, one it varies by system, and two if its posted in the open anyone could read it and go try it and if it bricks try to blame me, by PM'ing me you assume responsibility by asking for the information. What you do with it from there is up to you. Note: Rebooter and the Backup Launcher are two different things, so don't expect to be able to play illegal backups with this, not to mention I don't support piracy and I would not share the information if it did. If you want to play a game, rent it or buy it and support Nintendo and the developers so they keep making more games. Now in closing and on this topic, if there isn't a code for your game and you feel you have the coding skills to make your own then you need a USBGecko. You can at the time of this post get one from the following sites (they come in and out of stock so check each periodically) www.modchipcentral.com http://www.gocybershop.ca http://www.gp2xstore.com/ (in stock 12/17/09) I hope this helps, talk to you all later. Merry Christmas.

Sincerely,
Elmoreas

P.S. - If you have HBC and you mess with your NAND very often, as I do, I suggest you set bootmii as your boot2 and make a NAND backup SD card if you can, but if you can't, which is likely, then I suggest you get a savemii. It isn't as good as having bootmii on boot with a NAND backup but it is better than nothing. You can get one here  http://www.ozmodchips.com/savemii-wii-unbricking-device-p-178.html Just an FYI I have used all the sites I posted except gocybershop and all were legit, I have also used console source and they are legit but out of all my orders they are the only ones I had trouble with, and it took them 3 weeks to fix it.

I live in the U.S. and they do ship here. Also since I had ordered mine, they ran out of stock and then restocked. That is a good sign.

It allows you to dump the memory of the Wii to an PC, So you can do stuff like search for variables and change them (CheatEngine),
Do texture hacking, Upload Dol files to the HBC...

Ahhh hmm, I might save me up some money then lol there's a few texture hacks in brawl I've been dying to try XD I mean my own ideas lol
So there's like no way it can brick my wii right? :3 hehe, I suck at coding shit, but I have had some experiance in C+ and Visual Basic...hmm....

Title: Re: Where to get a USBGecko

AFAIK you cant really brick it.
What might happen is that you mess around in the wrong range, And your Wii crashes. A simple reboot fixes that.

They have them in their online shop, I can't seen any reviews about them online so I don't know if they're good or not.

These guys also have some except they don't have a good reputation on some forums online.

ya foundmy.com has some times bad rep, but they got the stock.  they have improved from my understanding is they are doing all their shipping now instead of 3rd party.

and they support the website wiimc.org (media player for the wii) that is where i found them from since it was recommended to get a geckoUSB too.

but since i have upgraded to a wode unit, but still gecko USB is awesome to use!

actually i wrote a review for the product/store itself. they have great customer service and are very good about replying to your emails quickly, just airmail takes AGES to get to your house sometimes.. (im in the US and this is for eurasia.nu)

http://www.eurasia.nu/
They have them in their online shop, I can't seen any reviews about them online so I don't know if they're good or not.

These guys also have some except they don't have a good reputation on some forums online.

Foundmy.com don't have a good reputation either, however I have seen good reviews for them in recent times

ähm lol you can't buy any usb gecko in germany...  :(

Tja, so ist das halt, die sind ausverkauft, überall!

Okay, in English: In many European countries (including Germany) they are sold out. Well in the not too long ago past, shops sent USB Geckos from one to another - simply because Nuke did not produce any new. However, by now, I guess the few shops still holding stocks do everything to keep their little stock. You CAN still find them, googling still takes you to stores having them, however, you most likely need PayPAL/a credit card. Most stores out there happily ship internationally, just shipping will be more expensive.

I do know Wolfsoft.. they are known to be pricy, however, they are also known for quality! So give it a go if you want one, they are trustworthy!

eurasia.nu/shop/ is actually reliable. $52 is the total. i ordered one for a friend from there about 6 months ago and it arrived in his house in 10 days. the packaging was ok. the box looked old. they must have quite a bit of NOS.

that was about the same time i purchased my gecko from them.. they have since dropped the pricing on standard airmail.. its not 5 dollars so the total for the gecko is $50.

also just hope that customs doesnt want your gecko like they wanted mine.... it took nearly 6 weeks to get through for my first time.. the next 2 times it went through in about 50 minutes lol. (the first was a rare fluke..)

Ordered from there on the 4th of last month, said shipping would take 2-5 days, still haven't gotten it yet. Submitted a support ticket on the 15th, emailed them a week later, still nothing. Only thing the order status says is "Cash On Delivery Pending," which doesn't tell me a lot. I'm not impressed.

Honestly I don't think they even have a "sales department".

Well, if they don't respond to emails within say 10 days, open a paypal dispute (assuming you paid with paypal.)

By "Cash on delivery" I assume your local post office was told to collect shipping fees on delivery, and you didn't pay them. Maybe call up your local post office and ask about that, they might have it sitting there now.
Yeah, it was Cash on Delivery. But if nobody's home when the postman comes by, he'll leave a notification thing in the mailbox, which I haven't gotten. Nearest post office said they never got any shipments for me either.

I'd like to cancel this order and try ordering again with a credit card, but now I'm not too sure about giving them my cash for a product they may or may not decide to ship.

Anyone know of another NA retailer I could try?

I realised recently that if I want WiiRD codes for games, I'm probably best off learning how to make those codes for myself, which means I need to buy one of these things.

It seems they're nearly impossible to find these days, though. Has anyone heard of anywhere (preferably in Australia) that still has them? Or, failing that, is there a way to make one yourself?
