Title: My wii got updated while I was gone.
Post by: stephanjd on June 24, 2013, 04:52:54 AM
Recently, I left a disc that prompted my Wii to be updated if I accessed it through the system menu rather than Gecko or anything like that. While I was gone, my nephew played and updated it. One of the things I noticed I noticed that I can no longer access the homebrew channel with bootmii in boot2. the version currently installed is 4.3U.

Does that update take away any significant feature? Is it worth downgrading, and if so, how? Are there any alternatives?

By the way, some games still ask me to update(metroid:other M, for example). What do I need to do so that I don't get prompted to update certain games when playing through the system menu?

I think there are preloader functions to disable the game updates.

Alternatively just run every game through gecko os, be it with cheats or not.

It's been a while since I last kept up with things regarding homebrew. I've forgotten most things. How can I got about using pre-loader?

Also, it still doesn't solve why I can't access the homebrew channel through bootmii. Any ideas on what's wrong?

Download the latest version of the HackMii Installer (http://bootmii.org/download/) and update both the Homebrew Channel and BootMii.  That should allow you to once again access the Homebrew Channel through BootMii.
