Title: GeckOS takes several hours to load on my Wii, how do I fix this?
Post by: caltc on September 04, 2008, 10:14:38 PM
Hi, I'm new to the forums and new to homebrew/geckoOS. I got it cuz my Wii sadly has the 3.3 firmware so I can't use freeloader anymore. When I try to run GeckoOS, everything runs smoothly until it actually starts loading it. It seems to sit at 0% for several hours and then I'll find it at 100% when I wake up or get home etc. Once it gets to 100% I can play my games and use it like you normally would. But does anyone know why it takes to long to load. I tried to use it today and i'd say it took a good 10 hours before it loaded up.

Thanks

Hmm...

Do you have a GameCube Memory card inserted into the Wii?  If so, try removing it.  Also, are you loading it through WiiLoad, or an SD Card?

Yea, I normally keep my GC card in so I don't forget where it is. I tried it with the GC card out, and it loaded in less than a second. Thanks for the help. Now I can play when ever I want instead of prepping my Wii hours in advance.:clap:clap
