I can't cheat on VC games because the channel loader thing does not show up AT ALL. Help! :'(
Your IOS36 needs the trucha bug. I think you need to use some homebrew like "trucha bug restorer", or you can just wait till next update of Gecko (if there is)

Follow the instructions under the spoiler "Patching IOS36"
I experience the same problem, the Launch Channel button is missing from Gecko OS 1.9.3.1.
I'm using Wii OS 4.3u, which I had to in order to play Skyward Sword.
I tried patching the WII with both Simple IOS Patcher and with Dop Mii v16. Both came back with failure to patch and error messages. Dop Mii even crashed with a memory dump error, showing a screenfull of hex code.
Launch Channel is still absent.

I'm experiencing the same thing. NUS Download isn't even giving me what I need to patch it.
Guys, try using trucha bug restorer, it will auto-download needed files, patch them, and install them.
Trucha bug restorer didn't work. In fact, it gave the exact same error as Dop-Mii v16 did.
I used Multi-Mod-Manager, and it worked!
Nevermind. I was just being stupid.
I didn't realize I needed ios36.wad version 3608 on my SD root. I downloaded it, and Dop-Mii installed it. I now have all functions available on gecko OS.
...However! Launch Channel-> Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, cannot detect SD Codes.
Nevermind that again!
I just did the same thing I did to solve the problem back when I had Wii Os 4.2U. I formatted the SD card, reinstalled everything, and now it works. Launch Channel now finds and applies SD codes.
I have no idea why that should make a difference, but it does.
