Title: Could Gecko OS get patch support?
Post by: ninjapresident on March 29, 2012, 03:08:16 AM
Hey!  I'm new around here, and I know that Gecko hasn't been in active development in a while, but I was curious if it could get patch support.  For instance, say you had a copy of World Soccer: Winning Eleven 6 - Final Evolution.  There's a ppf patch for that game, and I was wondering if you could run that patch on Gecko with your copy.  I don't even know if that is technically possible, but I was just curious.  The main reason I am asking this question is because the guys who are working on the Captain Rainbow translation might be working on Giftpia next.  If/when the patch comes out, I was wondering if you guys could add support for file patching by that time.  I have a legitimate copy of the game, and I thought it would be pretty neat if I could play the game straight off the disk in English.   Like I said, I don't even know if that is technically possible, but if it is, would anyone consider doing it?  Thanks, guys!

geckos has gpf and gameconfig poke support, but i don't think that is what your looking for, i think what your looking for is

http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Riivolution

edit: I don't think it works with ppf though.
you would just need to ask the creators to make a appropriate patch for Riivolution

Yeah, I knew about Riivolution, but as far is I know, it only has Wii game support, while Gecko OS could run a gamecube games.  So I figured it would be easier to add to this rather to that.  I'll ask around over there, however.  Thanks!

Edit: Could you edit a patch to work with that gpf thing or is that only for cheat codes?

Edit Edit: Yeah, it can only run Wii games.  So, unless some master hacker can add support to Gecko OS, It's a lost cause.  Oh, well, thanks anyways!
