Title: HBC update!
Post by: dcx2 on February 27, 2012, 04:38:51 PM
http://hackmii.com/2012/02/the-homebrew-channel-v1-1-0/

Major changes include improved Wiimote support (newer Wiimotes weren't working; homebrew developers should recompile with latest libogc), and that painful network bug (now I can turn my wifi off again!)

Sweet. I quit my part time job last week. Maybe I'll have time to work on stuff and update HBC now! :D

does it mean that all apps need recompiling with the new hbc build?
I still have the old wiimotes, so I´ll pass. ;)

Wait... I'm certain my Gold Wii Remote Plus worked on HBC, Accio Hacks, and GeckoOS... so that's odd...

It's for the brand new wiimotes
and no, apps don't need recompiled for ahbprot rights. they need recompiled for new wiimote access though. (doesn't sound like that affects you)

I'm in the same boat as James. My Gold Wii-Mote plus as well as my black one work just fine on HBC.

Which particular batch are these 'new' ones?

I thought the Homebrew Channel updates were done.  Nice to be wrong.   ;D  Will have to update whenever I get my SD card back.

Apparently networked apps are slower to start now.  Originally HBC would initialize the network, and then since IOS was not reloaded the next app had a shorter initialization.  Now HBC reloads IOS every time, which means the network initialization is reset.

setting a static IP on the wii drastically reduces that time

I updated and everything is fine. No noticeable changes, except for the new font ^-^
At least it won´t bother with the update message anymore xD
