1.) Let´s say, I made a code and released.
Then someone else re-makes it/ports it, but the code has like 1 different address, while the other two exactly match (according to how addresses are arranged after porting) How would credits look like?
In this example, the person didn´t give any credit hints.
2.) If someone makes a one-lined RAM Write code, but someone else finds a good hook address (1 liner also) and releases it as his.
3.) OR if someone uses specific codestypes to hide certain address to do something like this (many people don´t know what that means):
lis r12, 0x8012
lis r11, 0x0001
ori r12, r12, 0x6785
addi r12, 0x5D12 (r12)
stw r11, 0x500 (r12)
Or maybe also adds some fake writes for confusing purpoises.
This has happened many times in the cod triligoy specifically, due to online patches and everyone wanting the fame and glory of being wifi coders. I am also curios as to peoples view on this. It sounds ethically correct to atleast have an annotation as to who the original creator was in the bottom of the code, I.e.
-code-
*Thanks to Koala for finding the original address
Or,
Title[CrimsoN/Koala]
However, your ram/asm point made me think... but what happens if a no gun recoil code was made by me, using a hooked address in c0/c2, but you released before I did in a ram write with the same addy... is it ethical for me to release mine as it was with my own credits? Good thoughts... good thoughts...
Thanks for the post bully;D This will help people!

If I use anyone else's codes in even the most trivial way, I leave a note thanking the original hacker for the help.
One example is a code by hawkeye for Tales of Symphonia. When you begin a fight, the screen "cracks". The color of the cracks determine whether you were surprised, the enemy was surprised, or neither. hawkeye's code (http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php/topic,1840.msg25466.html#msg25466) merely changed the color of the cracks, nothing more. I then took the cracks code and made an "always surprise enemies" code. (http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php/topic,2530.msg43034/topicseen.html#msg43034)
But I suppose when you're dealing with "hackers" who don't care about ruining other people's online gaming experience, you should expect that they won't care about stealing codes either.
Quote from: dcx2 on February 21, 2012, 07:51:26 PM... you should expect that they won't care about stealing codes either.
That´s probably the point... quite damn.
It almost never happens on offline stuff, though lol.
Cool quote btw.
It fits to this thread ;D
Quote from: dcx2 on January 26, 2010, 04:49:03 PM:o Now you might see why hackers are so stern about getting credit for their codes. These can take several hours of trial and error, and that's if your lucky!
Obviously different people would have different feelings about this... If I were the one making that code, I'd actually prefer to remain anonymous and not have my name attached to anything at all. But I guess in some situations abiding by the golden rule of "do unto others as you would have them do to you" probably isn't such a great idea...
I make codes and choose not to release them if there game-ruining I probably not release it. If its non game-ruining I may release it. Depending if its like a money hack ill release that.;)

And there goes my respect for bully@wiiplaza everybody! Id like to point out not everyone at codeleakers is a spammer, and whyre you such a dick?
On topic: it seems your not the best as giving credit where its needed, either, bully.
However, I do believe that if the circumstances permit, you should atleast contact the original maker and let them know that you are building onto the code. I suppose it isn't necessary, but it'd still be nice imo.
But then again, what happens if you make a code that already exists, and releases it after its already been released? Do you get credit? Do the original releasers get credit?
Thanks for the defend Crimson

I dunno about that. Bully accused codeleakers were spammers and here you are doing just that.
I justed noted that this codeleakers guy keeps spamming everywhere, I felt free to tell about it so that it is taken care of finally.
Is that a bad thing? I try to keep everything clean and I´m accused by trolls for that... great.
And about the credits, I always give them properly. I mostly made all the codes long ago that´s why I get full credit for my personal work.
People were stealing from me and not the other way round. It happens that they find different addresses that also work, you should better learn how to analyse codes and figure if it´s a rip off or not. When I do rip stuff, I put credit.
I´m so sick about people claming random shit, where´s the damn proof? Typical for codeleakers.
Become better coders so that you aren´t in need of flaming others because you´re too bad to achieve anything, thx.
You all use my codes. How come that nobody else accuses me for stealing except for you leaker guys? Isn´t there something wrong with it then?

yeah but they simply don´t...
Actually, funny how I do know how to code bully. Your arrogance makes me want to punch a babies face.
How are people stealing from you, when you have no proof that you released before they did? Sorry to get into online discussion here, but the red box code by you and mitch.. funny how savage released one much earlier. That's the main one that bugged me, because I highly respect red x, however I call horse shit on your credits for that one. You didn't make a video previous, and the code was un heard of until released by savage, yet you still claim credit? How?

Get your facts right once again. I just noticed that all of your arguments are invalid.
Read this sentence I put as code note long time ago: *Originally by Mitch, ported by Bully@Wiiplaza*
This says it all, doesn´t it? I ported it, and now? Any problems with porting and telling that it was ported by me?
Anyways, Mitch made the code in the first place and not Savage...
Proof: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Utr9ze8voYY
Another thing:
Your little leaker bud Clay10 just stole credits from me. :o
I made a noclip for black ops campaign weeks ago and release it on my youtube:
Noclip [Bully@Wiiplaza]
204B6948 546007FF
2820XXXX YYYYZZZZ
044B6944 38600001
CC000000 00000000
044B6944 807D1B5C
E0000000 80008000
Today clay10 has added a noclip for campaign to geckocodes:
No-clip campaign [Clay10]
28200EE0 00001400
048A3364 00000000
CC000000 00000001
048A3364 00000001
E0000000 80008000
B + Minus (-) on wiimote to activate/deactivate
So he just un-ASM´ed my code and released it as his. :-[
Cool and this kept happening all the time in the past including Seth´s and Mitch´s codes (*cough* invisibility, alternate godmode).
Seriously, who is stealing all the time and should better shut up finally? "Codeleakers" already says it all.
For some reason all codes only come from leakers with full credit to themselves
after someone else (like me, Mitch, Seth, etc.) has released them...
Proof? I googled my address and found nothing. I searched the name and found nothing. A quick google of your address only shows 1 result, which isn't even YouTube.
So how would I find your code? You tell me. I don't know, you may go edit a video right now to include the code or something.
Bully, your ignorance shows by telling codhacks to "stay with your codeleakers style". Harsh a bit? He wants to learn more about coding and you'll just tell him to "stay with your codeleakers style"? That's like someone saying "stay with your wiiplaza style" every time you ask a question or ask for help.
Codeleakers does not steal credit for codes. The moderators try their best to fix credits when people stick a random name or even no name at all on their code. Sure, there are some spammers. Every forum has spammers. Why put everything on codeleakers' group of spammers? Say what you will, but you have never been active on codeleakers, so how would you know about any of this? All you're doing is watching from outside of everything with a biased opinion towards a site.
the proof is my code archive on youtube. Black Ops Campaign Codes :P
Yes, you couldn´t know without checking it out yourself but fact is that I made it weeks ago and you could´ve stolen it since it was there.
I don´t care now, keep it like it is. Googling the address doesn´t say anything because it can be a different address, but still the exact same code (like if ASM is used).
I saw enough at codeleakers to built up my opinion. When there´s a thread with 3 pages, I only see like 3 senseful posts the rest is spam.
And this is the case like almost always. This is supposed to be an okay spam rate? And you don´t get why I bumped this codhacksftw guy also.
I´ve watched him post like 20 times on here and each of those posts was spam and not about getting serious hacking help ONCE. Don´t act like if we didn´t ever catch you for stealing a code. What about the invisibility and godmode thing Mitch/Seth found? Yes, you stole it and put it into Pointer.
I tell how things are and not how I guess that they are. I saw everything with my own eyes and there´s proof for what I say.
Is it too hard to stop that bullshit?
This is a pointless argument. I thought this was about credit.
Clay, making a code pointer or asm doesnt mean you can steal credits.

LMFAO! Oh jesus! Oh god, thank you Seth, for my new signature at codeleakers and disturbedcore. LMFAO. All I can say.
Toon is right, it was about credit.
Bully, realize not all wannabes at codeleakers steal credit. For instance, didn't I PM you that your codes were being posted without links? Yeah, I did. Who there works to restore credit where its needed? I'm in that group. Your too stereotypical; codeleakers has no codes to leak, so get over the fact that the domain happens to be codeleakers
Here's my question bully; if you made a code that isn't considered game ruining, for an offline campaign mode; why isn't it in the database? Sounds sketchy, imo.

I don´t always feel like posting codes for online games to geckocodes, even if they are for campaign.
They can be modified to work online. Additionally, I felt to put it on youtube only which is better for me personally because more people will go to my youtube and not only geckocodes. I made and released a full set of noclip, godmode, inf. ammo etc. for all three black ops modes (campaign, mp and zombies). It´s enough proof. It still doesn´t mean that they don´t count as "already hacked" though.
I'm sick of seeing this discussion in Wii Game Hacking Help. I'm moving it to Off Topic.
Since this was moved to off topic, I'll just slip this in here. It's what this discussion has become. :p

Smells like site racism up in here.
I agree with toonlink444- we need to keep the flaming towards others/whole sites down to as-close-to-none as possible.
Codeleakers guys- please don't egg on WiiPlaza guys.
WiiPlaza guys- please don't talk down about codeleakers as a whole.
If anyone accuses any specific person of code theft, they really need to post proof with it initially- not just after it was challenged.
From my extremely limited view of this thread, it sounds like some of the main CodeLeakers guys are respectable/legit and want to keep their site content well credited. As they said, code theft happens at most sites mostly by noobs... Everyone should appreciate that and bring it up calmly to them specifically when/if theft happens at their site.
We hope the same is done for us when one of our users rips off someone else's work too.
@Bully: Unfortunately, posting your codes only to your youtube might help keep your views up... but it really is almost impossible to find that work without looking specifically at your videos... So it is very vulnerable to getting legitimately re-hacked. =( It's hard to balance that, but maybe if you posted them to forums or geckocodes after a week of having them on YouTube, that might help you on both sides?
Any way a mod can clean up this thread? too much spam -.-

Amen to that; why didn't you even post the videos here bully? You calling Clay a credit stealer kind of went over board there.
@matt, its been moved off topic. I hope you realize that you shouldn't be a stickler in offtopic subjects, and you asking to get rid of the spam is initially you spamming as well. Nice try, my friend.

Once again, I don´t post videos about online hacking on here because of the rules, go and get the videos yourself. I didn´t make a specific campaign video.
It didn´t went over board because I simply made it weeks ago plus released plus date of last update and it wasn´t the first time, he made a suspicious code. That´s why it´s justified. But like I said, I won´t continue to bother with it. I can´t get through this ignorance anyways.
