Title: PAL on PAL = Black screen?
Post by: Chuba on November 10, 2011, 02:07:23 AM
Hiya,

Sorry if this has been asked before. I've had a look, but I can't find this exact problem.

I'm using a PAL Wii console (4.0E Menu) and the latest Gecko (though I've tried previous versions too).
Whenever I use Gecko without codes, it loads up the games flawlessly. However....

When I use codes, it will only load J-NTSC games (I don't have any US games to try with). Whenever I load up codes for a PAL game, it takes me to a black screen and I have to manually reset the console. I do not have anything in the sockets/USB ports except the memory card with Gecko.

Is there any workaround/solutions for this?

Same for *ANY* game you tried?
Had SD Codes enabled or not?
If it only freezes while having codes enabled, recheck your codelist!
Are they legit copies?
Try to disable SD Codes and only enable debugging.
Be sure to not use messy options like force NTSC.

Yes, same for any game.

The SD codes are enabled, and it gets past the 'booting game' part before getting into the black screen.

I'm pretty certain they are - Some other people have the exact same code list, and they've been able to get it working. Yes, the games are 100% legit.

It works when codes are disabled, but I was hoping to get them working. I will try not using 'Force NTSC', as I may have that checked. Thanks!

Edit: Unchecked Force NTSC, but still no luck sadly :(

The game you are trying is not the latest Kirby game by any chance?

Don´t (!) use any codes or change try to spot the freezing code by modifying the codelist each time.
