Currently when I run any of my brawl mods, be it brawl+, - , or even vanilla brawl, through my gecko, it will not allow me to use my gamecube controller, or any gamecube controllers to play and does not even recognize that it is plugged in. It isnt my controller sockets because it works in brawl run thorugh the wii disc channel and the controllers will work fine in any other way. Wireless controllers will recognize that they are plugged in and the receiver will give a response when the button is pressed, but the game itself will not recognize any gamecube controllers at all. At first I thought it was a problem with my gecko version, 1.9, then I tried it with an older version as well as the newest version from this website. As stated I have also tried it with different brawl hacks/ versions but still no juice. I would greatly appreciate any kind of assistance in solving this problems as every other forum that has had this problem has been left unanswered and unsolved. Thank you and hopefully this issue will get resolved very soon.
Edit:
PROBLEM SOLVED!!!! Just use Riivolution with the guide in this link

ISSUE FINALLY RESOLVED
EDIT EDIT:
Gecko working now, just uninstalled then installed the newest version and redid all of my Brawl files.
Issue might have been with the system date on the wii.
Thanks for helping ^_^
Have you tried disabling SD cheats? Maybe one of them is interfering with the GC controller stuff.
Just went and tried that and still no working controllers, no change at all :\
I normally wouldn't suggest this, but a quick google search shows that Gecko OS seems to have some issues with GC controllers and Brawl, so...
You should try Riivolution or NeoGamma r9 b50.
tried both riivolution and neo gamma, neither one would completely load through to the game. Just hit launch and was taken to a black screen for 7 minutes for each of them. Not sure if I did them wrong or what.
UPDATE: Got riivolution to work, googled and fixed the black screen error. For some reason the date was set to the final date that the wii can possibly go to (12/30/2035). Now the riivolution works, however it won't apply any codes for the game. Solution?
Riivolution has a special thing called Ocariina or something like that. You need to put the codehandler.bin somewhere and set up some XML file so that it knows what to do.
I did this once, and I remember it not exactly being straightforward. Here's the link. http://rvlution.net/riiv/Ocarina_Codes
Brawl+ uses some gameconfig stuff, right? I don't know if Riivolution does gameconfig stuff.
I'm also quite surprised to hear NeoGamma choked on Brawl+, because WiiPower is always trying to improve its compatibility with everything.
neogamma also might have had the black screen problem because of the date error that riivolution had. Im going to have to run more checkups tomorrow and I'll keep in touch with the results. Hopefully I can get it fixed by tomorrow. Thx for the help so far, night
Currently trying to get codes to apply on Neo gamma. When loading it says that neogamma is applying the codes but once the game starts it has not been applied. Is it the hooktype or something? I turned on ocarina for it and changed the hooktype to VBI but does it need to be set to something different perhaps?
Still don't know why gecko just stopped resonding to gamecube controllers -...-
PROBLEM FINALLY SOLVED
It took a lot of google searching but I finally found a guide on how to install riivolution WITH brawl minus. Unfortunately it had to be done without gecko since no one knows how to fix the gamecube controller issue.
Here is a link to the guide for installing Riivolution along with brawl minus, for anyone else who comes along so that they dont have to go through the ssearching that I did.

Good luck everyone else, thanks for the help and happy brawling
Wii Hook Type should be set to VBI. Wii Ocarina should be on. The other options aren't necessary, but you could probably have 2nd hook type none or = 1st hook, and Wii Debugger no.
So...did the GC controller used to work, and it doesn't anymore? Is it possible the date thing screwed the GC controller up in Gecko OS?
still after fixing the date, gecko wont use the gc controller. no big deal really, just running riivolution now. only problem im having with riivolution is that it doesnt seem to be applying the physics. such as luigi slipperyness, canceling peach side b into another move to get some distance on it, marth neutral b in the air to gain forward momentum, ect. currently working on a solution
Reinstalled a brand new version of gecko, downlaoded the latest brawl minus files. Gecko works now >.>
I don't think I'll ever understand this crazy program but it actually might have been that Date issue.
Good to hear everything is sorted out.
Seeing as how homebrew is unofficial, we run into these sorts of things sometimes. Thanks for making a post so that others can find a solution too.
