Title: Countdown to...
Post by: Arudo on October 23, 2011, 08:08:19 PM
Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword - 25 days
Kirby's Return to Dreamland - Released!

I'm probably thinking these two will be the next big ones for people to hack... though I could be wrong.

It will be a f*cking hacking festival again, many people are looking forward to it.
Each minute counts to earn some credits for those codes. xD

We pre-ordered with the Gold Wiimote bundle.  http://www.amazon.com/Legend-Zelda-Skyward-Remote-Nintendo-Wii/dp/B002I0GEHI

Also don't forget Skyward Sword requires Wii Motion Plus.

Post by: Arudo on October 23, 2011, 11:15:25 PM
I already have 3 regular Wii Motion Plus attachments, a black wii-mote with the built in motion plus, and I'm still getting the bundle version just because the Gold remote looks awesome (although a bit tacky...)

I paid off the pre-order with the gold wiimote at gamestop a while ago.
Now I'm moving to Arizona this weekend so I have to transfer once I get there.... The timing is bad... ;_;

Hacking Zelda will be fun but I won't hack it or use codes until I've beat it.

Post by: Arudo on October 24, 2011, 09:12:42 PM
Now that you've said that, I actually recall that I beat LoZ TP without codes... and never bothered to play it again with codes after that. The only reason I pulled it out was to install HBC via Twilight Hack back in the day.

Yeah, I noticed this.  When it was confined to Ubi games it wasn't such a big deal, but if Nintendo is using it on their own games, it means it could be in a new SDK now.  So we should probably do something about it.

It seems I heard that new kirby game has some kind of memory protection. Lets hope zelda does not have worse memory protection to hack. If it has complex memory protection I hope someone like kenobi, Y.S. or dcx2 can bypass it. I am almost 99% sure it will have memory protection.
why did people then manage to create some of the "major" codes?

I don´t have the game, (yet?) just wondering. ???
Btw. I loved Kirby´s Dreamland (however it was called, I forgot) on the game boy, but hated the last Kirby game on Wii (Epic Yarn).
Now it´s graphics are way better. Looks like fun again *.*

Speaking of weird games that could use hacking, I saw that ... Spyro's Skylanders or whatever...
80 bucks for the bundle with the game, trading cards, three of the figurines, the thing that plugs into the wii...

And you have to buy new monsters/figurines if you want them, and they're like 8 bucks a piece of 20 bucks for a pack of three.

The idea of shelling out extra money for a game like that horrifies me.

reminds me of kindergarten.
Games are supposed to come with a disk, manual and maybe some console equipment with it...
I don´t want any figures that come with games, especially not when they increase costs.

If I wanted to play with figures and stuff, I don´t buy a videogame.

The figures are 'required' to unlock new monsters. Which I think is silly.

that can also be done with a cheat code/password from the monsters that someone else gave away. ;D

The demo for Skyward Sword alone is extremely popular -

I saw that thread, but nothing turned up when I googled it.  How did people get the demo?

Seeing as how I pre-ordered this game, I almost feel entitled to download it when it hits the 'net.  They have had my money for like two months now, I should be able to get the game before it hits shelves (or in my case, before the mail guy delivers it to my mailbox)

Same. I'd link to it, but you know, I don't want to get in trouble.

I saw it on GBATemp, then looked around.

I can't link you to the website that I got it from, can I? That'd be against the rules, because it seems that they also host other ISOs and stuff...

Just keep looking on Google, and you'll find it, otherwise ;)

Ah, I was wondering if this was somehow legit, like you could buy a demo from somewhere.  Your response pretty much explains that it's not.

I wonder how this got released into the wild.

Anyway, looks like I have about 12 days to beat Borderlands...
Title: Re: Countdown to...
Post by: goemon_guy on November 08, 2011, 11:40:58 PM
I dunno... How does stuff like this normally happen?

My guess is that it was a demo for the game at some local gamestore that people can just go in and play and try it out.

Someone probably got a hold of it, and ripped it or something, and they put it online. (Then again, that would have to be an employee of a gamestore, and they could get in alot of legal trouble; or possibly someone stole the game disc? o.o)

lol... maybe someone brought his harddrive and sd card and used an inattentive moment:
Installed the HBC and Cios on the gamestop´s Wii, ripped it off to his harddrive using a USB Loader and deleted all that homebrew stuff and quit.
Then uploaded it to the net. That´s probably the crazy shit that happens nowadays all the time in different forms. And yes, one can do this without an internet connection... :P

Joystiq just put out a review.  A note at the bottom says the review was performed on a retail copy of SS.  http://www.joystiq.com/2011/11/11/the-legend-of-zelda-skyward-sword-review/

And now Glitch has some codes on the database for this game.

People claim about others to pirate games while they do the same and hack codes for games that weren´t even released, yet.
Where did they get it from this time? >.<

Anyone want to estimate the new members/day we'll have once Skyward Sword hits retail?

After the demo hit the net, we jumped to 100/day (although some might be spam bots, we have a problem with that again...)

I estimate that new members will hit 200/day some time after the game hits retail.
Title: Re: Countdown to...

I'm thinking the Spam bot problem will be ongoing until dealt with...

I'd think 200/day would be a safe bet...

Not Likely. They will probably want to play it first without codes as well as the folks on here currently.

The game is one thing. playing the game with codes is an entirely different thing all together. Making codes is half the fun. Things like superhookshot are great for exploration. There's no need to link cheating to win and hacking to have fun...

About the game, Zelda is ugly :'(, Link follow your exact moves with his sword. Thanks to the Wii Motion Plus.
Graphics are half way to Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess.

oh you are correct. playing the game with hacks is great as certain hacks allow for a completely new way to explore. i was basically saying that it is sad when "children" ask for hacks on the day of a game's release, or as we have already witnessed, before a game is officially released. i personally think they ruin their experience with the game but thats why i said "but then again..."  ^-^

And screenshotting really is a plus from having a USBGecko etc.
