Title: How to identify what version of a game you have
Post by: dcx2 on June 17, 2011, 01:26:55 AM
I'm making this a sticky so it's easier to find.

Look at the BOTTOM side of your game disc.

The string of interest is RVL-RZDE-0A-0 in this case.  The digit of interest is bolded.  Add 1 to that digit to get the version (so this is version 1 of RZDE = Twilight Princess USA)

there´s also a good possibility to find out, which game ID your game has!

---

The game ID is *always* the 4 digits part after the first parenthesis plus the 01 ending.

RVL-RZDE-0A-0

RZDE01 is therefore the game ID of our game, while the E symbolises the region of the game.

E = NTSC-U
J = NTSC-J
P = PAL
...

there are still many more, but these three are the most important ones though.
If someone knows the link of the wiibrew game regions list, let me know I´ll edit my post then.

Technically, RZD is the game name, E is the region, 01 is the publisher.

The 01 is only for Nintendo. It's different per-publisher (as dcx2 said)

it was @matt123337 about what the letters meant. I had it bookmarked. I /thought/ it mentioned what each letter in the game ID meant, but I think that was another one... :\  to be honest, I just went off my memory remembering that it had explained those in detail, but i guess not @_@

upon searching again i refound it here: http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Title_ID
