god it took like hours for me to get on wiird what happened?
I'm not sure what happened. I was playing L4D2 all afternoon, just noticed it was down like 40 min ago, and then did some server restart voodoo.
I must admit, the server the forum is running on is being attacked recently MAJORLY with DDoS attacks.. I am doing my best to keep them out but yeah.. I hope I have a new DDoS prevention script.. but well.. I had multiple troubles in the past with them.. typically several Apache modules block requests too quickly - so while they prevent DDoS attacks they also prevent certain pages (like photo albums which are hosted on other pages) not to work anymore and it's quite difficult to find scripts which on one side seem to block them fine but also make sure to not prevent regular connections.
Is the DDOS attacking WiiRD forums, or just the host in general?
iirc, last night Link told me that it was usually aimed at the WiiRD Forums and/or at GeckoCodes.
Were we just down again?
What happened this time? All i know is wiird was down for hours again.
Damn, was it because of another PSN hacking incident that we got targeted or something?
Man, you guys are addicted to this forum. It goes away for a few hours and everyone starts going through withdrawals.
lol, it sounds like that doesn't it. Anger, agitation, headaches, dry mouth, palpitations!!

-twitch- I don't have a problem. << -goes back to watching the forums-
Could be worth switching to lighttpd or nginx as your web server, I've used both and they are stable with a tiny memory footprint and don't spawn a ton of processes unlike apache does. lighttpd seems a little easier to setup with php.
Another round of down-time eh?
