since HBC integrated geckoloader's features, i ported it to the gamecube. here (http://forum.wiibrew.org/read.php?17,1239) is the release thread.

heh, i had to check the region on that iso, i didnt remember ;)

its currently set to PAL (i just used the gc-linux tools to build it). it should be easy to set to NTSC with these old gamecube tools, if your modchip doesnt already patch it on the fly...

hi nuke!

k sorry about repplying to this ancient topic but i have a few questions about this.

1) will this work on the wii
2) will this work with just a wii, gamecube gecko loader and usb gecko or do i need other thing such as sd gecko or action replay (to use cheats in gamecube games)
3) apart from having the homebrew channel installed, do i need to do anythijng lse for this to work

thanks in advanced

You can do cheats for GameCube with these

Gamecube USB GECKO
Gecko OS 1.06d (fixed) USA ISO
Gecko OS 1.06d (fixed) PAL ISO
Gecko OS 1.06d (fixed) JAP ISO
Gecko OS 1.06d (fixed) DOL
and WiiRD
the downloads are here
http://www.usbgecko.com/manual.htm (http://www.usbgecko.com/manual.htm)
Your wii needs a chip or you need sd Media Launcher or sd Gecko and a old action replay.
there mite be other ways but i don't know them there are topics do a search.
If i was you i would what for Gecko 2.0

i remember finding a guide on the internet about how to use cheats in gamecube games on wii with just a wii with the homebrew channel and a usbgecko.whoever tried it said it worked, and others said "can this brick your wii" and the person who wrote the guide just replied "im not sure". so i was worried it would brick my ii but when i read about how a wii bricksi figured its impossible for a wii to brick this way. if only  could find that guide again...

SD media launcher that loads gamecube DOL files doesn't work with gecko os.

This is because it disables the disk slot by using it to emulate a loader.

once loaded you can't change your game so SD Media launcher doesn't work :|

You NEED an SD Gecko or modchip to use it effectively.

SD media launcher dose work with Gecko OS 1.06d (fixed) DOL
Usb Gecko in slot B and the SD media launcher in slot A
start the SD media launcher disk click on Gecko OS 1.06d.dol
Then remove SD media launcher from slot A put your mem card in.
Then remove SD media launcher disk and put in you GamCube Game now start WiiRD.
Not all Game are supported by WiiRD .
GAME WORKING LOL

SD media launcher is the name of the app that allows booting GCN dols on a wii through front sd slot, we're thinking of different things.

You're thinking of an SD gecko.
what i'm thinking of is the thing jassim linked to which doesnt allow usbgecko support and using a gcn ar you don't own is illegal

yea i know datel has a product named that, it's just when i was talking about it i was referring to the badly named app which has a name already being used.

I was simply saying that we were thinking of the opposite things.

SD media launcher disk = AR w/ SDLOAD code and and SD Gecko.

datel annoys me because people worked hard on those things and datel just resells the stuff :|

when is it coming out?
Title: Re: geckoloader gamecube edition
Post by: hetoan2 on February 04, 2009, 11:30:16 AM
it's already out, you just need a method of loading GCN homebrew dol's without using your wii only.

or you need a modchip.

I tried burning it to a disk and loading it with Backup Launcher. didn't work. :( Just rebooted to the system menu.

Burn this iso (http://www.usbgecko.com/files/gcosU16df.zip) to a DvD-R using these instructions (http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php?opic=41.0).

The one i put up Jassim is for a PAL wii
The one spunit262 put up is for a NTSC wii.
Just do what spunit262 said.
Burn it.

don't even try loading GCN homebrew with backup launcher. It needs cMIOS in order to even load GC backups. Plus, ANY homebrew file cannot be loaded without a modchip.

is there a way to do this without a mod chip

yea, you need an SD Gecko, and an old action replay (arloader114 not confirmed)

What settings and disk?

I tried multidisk Verbatim DVD- R with other Homebrew, didn't work

I know I installed everything correctly, dumped one of my gc games and tested it

Edit: I shrank it though, that might be the problem...I get a green screen and infinite GC controller rumbling, yay :P
Also, any .DOL to .ISO converters? And do you think I can use multidisk homebrew if I don't shrink it?

What SD files can GC Gecko OS load, GC Homebrew? Because I put in my SD Gecko with GC Homebrew on it using GCBooterHomebrew and it didn't work, is that because it can't read discs?

What settings and disk?    RCA DVD+R (formated to DVD-ROM) burned at 8X

I tried multidisk Verbatim DVD- R with other Homebrew, didn't work    don't think it does

I know I installed everything correctly, dumped one of my gc games and tested it   nice

Because I put in my SD Gecko with GC Homebrew on it using GCBooterHomebrew and it didn't work, is that because it can't read discs?   it can read discs... use the patched MIOS option
