Anybody know what this is? It is the phobia of the number 666, which is 'the Beast's number'. The Beast refers to Satan, the Devil and various others. I suffer from this phobia (sadly). Does anyone share this with me, or have any freaky stories?
Please explain how you can be scared of a number?
By the reactions in this topic it seems like number phobia's are a new concept to some of you
If that's true I find it quite remarkable, I thought everyone at least knew of triskaidekaphobia
@wiiztec I've seen the word "triskaidekaphobia" before but I've never bothered to look it up...
And my reaction was strictly to Panda's reaction, which I found hilarious.
@Sharkbyte This is off-topic! It's not for actual spam but it's def a place we can all come and talk about random things for shiggles. =)
Well, it's nice to see so many people have taken an interest in this topic. And this topic is spam; I think not. Isn't a post that doesn't refer to Wii Hacking at all meant to be placed in the Off Topic area? I only posted this because it is a phobia that I suffer from harshly, and I wanted peoples views on the matter, thus hoped that somebody could (maybe) help me with it. And Panda, 666 (as I have said) is the number of the Devil. Just like Triskaidekaphobia (the fear of 13 (Friday 13th)), 666 refers to a dark evil (lol this sounds Medieval). I am a religous person, and are very scared of Satan / the Devil. Hopefuly you understand this a bit more clearer now.
This'll probably also sound a bit stupid, but no longer than 15 minutes after I started this thread, I began searching phobia of the Devil. When I got to the d, my 'START' Menu began flashing randomly, and it came up with the 'Close Tabs' window. My PC then froze. When I pressed the off button on my PC, it began working again, but it was too late. If you search this up on google, below the Wiki reference you will find many people who have written about events to do with 666.
Ok, I recommend you stop researching it for starters. Never google anything to do with it again.
I'm aware of it's connections / meanings (the number 6 is symbolic of imperfection and then emphasized to a third degree)
If you are scared of a this certain number, why not turn it upside down. I wont tell you the answer but as a clue you shall be greeted with the Emergency Number of my Country of Residence
lol Thanks Panda! Whether that was meant to be serious or not, it made me laugh :D I haven't and won't search it up again after... that.
LOL now I got to scared to type in "666" in the google search bar :L
It's a shame religion messes up so many lives. :(
Just putting it out there, (DoomKaiber, this is in NO WAY against you.)
I am a Christ Follower, and I do not want to start a religious debate (though I am almost always willing to talk if someone else wants to!)
However, I do not fear the devil, there is no reason to.
The devil does not deserve to be feared, nor should he be.
Why? Because I believe that The Holy Spirit lies in all of us, and I know that it doesn't take a break AND DEFINETLY IS NOT OVERPOWERED on days that are multiples of 6, or anything else.
So how do I explain them? Coincidences? Probably not. I just don't want to give the 'devil' that much attention.
Oh, and so you know, the devil is only an angel of god remember.
Satin does not have the ability to be omnipresent, only god does.
Satin only appeared to two people in the recorded history of the universe, Eve, and Jesus Christ before crucifixion. (though, you never said you were a Christian, you never really said, I am not making an assumption)
Every thing else, demons (angels) that do the devil's work.
Anyways, the devil is going to be pwnd during the Revelations anyways, and we will be with god for 1,000 years, so even if he took our lives, he still loses, and god still wins.
And, sorry, no freaky stories for me.
@James0x57
I respect your opinion, and the way the world is, how can I blame you?
We are all hypocrites sometimes, I am a hypocrites sometimes.
Christians are called to be servants to others, and I know you agree, that this world would be a better place if we all looked out for one another.
But we don't, and for that I am sorry... however, while I encourage any questions, I also ask that you do not place my belief in god below any other belief, it should not be any less valid.
I disagree in short.
I have my own beliefs that are vastly different from yours but I had absolutely no intention to make you feel like you had to defend your views. My apologies.
Thank you. Now that I look back at it, it was a little much.
The thing is, I wasn't even meaning to defend, I just like sharing/talking about religion.
And I often will go into too much detail, It's all good. ;D

This^ This is why the thought behind atheism appeals to many, inclduing myself.
Thanks, Benny! It seems to me that you're talking a lot of sense. Looking into Greek Mythology, Haydes (the Devil) was a God, who was banished to the lower layers of Hell to 'look after' it. This could perhaps say that the Devil is not evil, thus only made mistakes which kinda messed his life up. I too am a Christian, but no matter how much people explain things to me, it doesn't really change my fear. I mean, who isn't scared of being banished to a land of eternal fire and misery? I also believe that the 'foretold' events of 2012 have a possibility of happening.
I prefer to call the Devil "pluto". Its much more friendly.
Also I have no solid beliefs about the afterlife (if any)
Kinda depressing.
What I think about the afterlife, is leaving the body, and entering a new body that is about to be born.
So I don't think of afterlife as a life after death, but a new life.
Don't know why I believe in It this way, but It make me not fear death :)

Pluto's just a midget ice demon now didn't ya hear
Hehe...
@doomkaiber
Sorry, I disagree with all of that.
For me it is:
I believe in Jesus and the bible,
Anything else, I don't consider religion related.
@everyone
I am exauhsted from thinking of what to say... I think, instead of talking about 'religion', I would rather talk about 'beliefs', or even 'ideas', that way, no one feels left out. Plus, my head will stop hurting. Plus, it is an resolvable debate (where have we ever heard of an unsolvable religious debate before...?)
Yep! I totally agree with you benny! Can I just ask one thing to everyone? Did you see the name of this thread, and think 'ooohh BIG NAME!', or did any of you actually know what this is?
nope, but all offtopic stuff i look at. Because I'm stalking everyone here >:D
