Title: Press button to "poke" a value?
Post by: Bully@Wiiplaza on December 12, 2010, 12:08:58 PM
I know, it seems like a noobish question, but maybe it isn´t.
I am trying to use a button activator to poke a specific value, but if the button is not pressed, nothing should write onto this adress!

aproach:

285944BE 00008000 -> button home
04662688 0000270F -> value to write
E2100000 00000000 -> if not...
...                         -> don´t write anything!
E0000000 80008000

which line do I need?

If the value writes itself back then all you need is

285944BE 00008000
04662688 0000270F
E0000000 80008000

if it doesn't then

04662688 XXXXXXXX
285944BE 00008000
04662688 0000270F
E0000000 80008000

XXXXXXXX=original value

no, I said nothing should write!!!
These are "life points" and I want the code to increase them when I press the button, but let me lose/gain them normally, if I don´t press it!

Then you should use the first one

sry but that's bullshit lol...
04 codes are for writing a value and not for doing nothing.

Quote04662688 XXXXXXXX
285944BE 00008000
04662688 0000270F
E0000000 80008000

you would write again a value by 04662688 XXXXXXXX.

idk but that's what i guess..

285944BE 00008000 -> button home
04662688 0000270F -> value to write
E2100000 00000000 -> if not...
0600270F 00000020 -> don´t write anything!
00000000 00000000
00000000 00000000
00000000 00000000
00000000 00000000
E0000000 80008000

No all he needs is

285944BE 00008000
04662688 0000270F
E0000000 80008000

This won't write ANYTHING unless the button is pressed

****but**** if he once pressed the button, he can't change it back!

Yes and there is nothing that can be done about that without writing to the address again

where the hell did you get the idea to write a string code of zeros beginning at the value he was going to write to 80662688?

sure it's possible.

if you activate any code, it start at 8000270F.
it writes: 285944BE 00008000 04662688 0000270F E0000000  80008000

and if you activate the 06 code, u can change it to 00000000.
0600270F 00000020 <--- starts at 0600270F and overwrite it with 00000000
00000000 00000000
00000000 00000000
00000000 00000000
00000000 00000000
E0000000 80008000

now it doesn't do anything more.

Where are you getting this information from?

And how the hell does that let him "change it back"?
