Title: How can I learn to become a code creator/hacker?
Post by: SG on October 30, 2010, 09:49:17 PM
I'm really interested in learning how to create codes.  But have NO knowledge about how anything is done.

What hardware would I need?
What kind of knowledge/experience?
Is there some kind of guide anywhere?

Cheers guys.

Hi. Some people will probably think I'm no person to help you, but I'm too learning and I'll share with you what I've done.

Before starting off with Wii games, you might want to start on Pc games. My advice is to download cheat engine 5.5, and follow the tutorial. If you can do that, you've got some promise. With cheat engine, you can hack both Flash games and actual Pc games. Also, try and get basic understanding in Hex (type in on google Statman Hexadecimals).
Once you understand that, try hacking Virtual Console games (Where I am now).

I think someone like Link or James0x57 can help you better than what I tried.

Good Luck.

Thanks.  Do you mean Flash games like on Newgrounds?  I'm not a PC gamer so it's only Flash games that  I have access to.  Well, and Monkey Islands 1-4.

You would need a USB Gecko to create Wii or Gamecube codes,
As for starter guides, I have A good site

http://members.cox.net/dexter0/WiiHacking/wiirdhacking.shtml

Check it out! Go to USBGecko.com to order but be sure that you are interested before you get one! Cause They are normally in VERY short supply, but not right now, so don't worry, you have plenty of time to get one.  :)

As for the more complex codes, you can look at this, it helped me a lot, but don't look at it until you understand the first guide.

I'm sure they will, the other USB Geckos lasted a lot longer than a couple months before they ran out.

Sorry for stealing your thread!

Online game sites e.g. miniclip, hallpass etc.

Well, on the homepage on the right side, there should still be an option to contact USBGecko.com about sales.

I think they are taking preorders, they are going for 33 Eros? (I don't use Eros so I don't really know, that is what I heard somewhere)

I got my regular Gecko for about $40 without shipping, but that was low in stock.

Oh. I'm posting on the Wii right now (Can't be bothered to load up comp). I'll preorder later. I think 33 euros is about £27?
