Title: Shaun White Skateboarding Green Screens
Post by: Riccalder on October 29, 2010, 10:28:41 PM
Attempting to boot Shaun White Skateboarding causes a Green Screen with the newest Gecko (1.9.3.1).  Attempting to launch it via rebooter after turning on the region free flag results in error 002.

All other GC and Wii games work fine.  This problem is specific to this game.

I would gather the disc has some new IOS, but Gecko isn't detecting and installing it.

From which region is the game? I bet you force the video mode from your Wii's region and it's not the same as the games' region.

The game is NTSC-U, as is my Wii, and I don't have any of the "force" options turned on.

I'm only using Gecko to boot it because my Wii isn't updated.

Did a little digging around online, and I saw that there was a thread on GBATemp about this game.  Apparently it gives backup loaders trouble too.  I'm using a legitimate disc, but it may indicate the presense of some special protection scheme that could be giving Gecko trouble.

You can try Gecko OS mod:

It works a little bit different from Gecko OS and some of the other loaders. And you do not need to install anything special for it, the cMIOS is for gamecube stuff only.

OS Mod boots it.  Still shows the green screen for half a second but then it boots up.  The game seems to work without any problems.

Thanks a bunch!
