I was just wondering if somebody could possibly give me an explanation on how to use WiiRD GUI with my USB Gecko to enable GCT Codes. My problem is that every time i go to enable the code, my wii locks up... The code isn't the problem, i was able to poke a value on the address so it works fine. So...help please? (damn i feel like a noob) Oh and how do i put hacker as my account type or whatever? :P
- For Hacker, you need to be advanced and do the hacker test or proof that you made good codes
- If the game locks up with a loud sound, you crashed the game, try to look at your codes, because poking is TOTALLY different to applying codes... you could have made a lot of mistakes in the actual code though (read some beasic RAM write TuTs or watch explanation videos)
- To run WiiRD, set Debugger to YES in the gecko options
:P
Exactly what codes are you using? Copy and paste the contents of one of the codes to a post.
In order to get Hacker privileges, you must write a few codes, post them to the Wii Support forum for that game, and then PM a moderator with a link to the codes. This proves that you understand things like hexadecimal numbering. They can be simple codes, like infinite health or ammo, or even something useless like adding to your life total when you die instead of subtracting.
um well actually i read somewhere that somebody would rather these codes not be used but.... it's for Geometry Wars: Galaxies and its for the score lol... it is supposed to make your score
multiplier massive
GameID: RGLE7D
(EDIT: decided to remove the code :P sorry suckers)
Also to Bully@Wiiplaza um....i already knew to enable the debugger how else could i have used WiiRd?
That doesn't look like a WiiRD code. Try reading these
http://wiird.l0nk.org/codetypes.html
or
http://geckocodes.org/index.php?arsenal=1
You probably need to set the ba to 0x92000000 with a 42-codetype, and then you can do a 16-bit write with a 02-codetype, and don't forget to end with the terminator E0-codetype.
umm hows this?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Game: Geometry Wars Galaxies
GameID: RGLE7D
Code Name: Ultimate Score Multiplier
Code:
(EDIT: decided to remove the code :P sorry suckers)
I tested it ingame and it worked. It places the multiplier at 65535! :-X >:D
Wow, you picked that up quickly. Do you have previous experience with programming or hacking?
If you want to learn more, there's a bunch of tutorials in The Collective.
http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php/board,40.0.html
ty and to be honest yes i have previous experience in both programming and hacking :P also i'm sure your gonna want me to make a different code because i'm not sure if you want that specific code published to the public >:D should i edit and remove it since you already saw it?
EDIT: actually this is bugging me im going to see if i can find where i read about the whole score geometry wars thing and il edit again and post a link
EDIT: FOUND IT!! http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php/topic,54.0.html
QuoteI am currently withholding the High Score code, as it works with the wifi leader boards. It's a simple code to hack, but not super simple.
Unless it's designed to give you an advantage online against other players, I don't see why the code shouldn't be published. You can remove it if you wish, though...it is your code.
I'm sure that it's a rule for no double posting (that's a rule on ALOT of forums xD) so don't forget to read my edits xD and ok i will remove the code (even though i used it once already ;D ) <-- only on the very first level :p
Oh, I see. Yeah, in that case, it's better off unreleased. Although we tend to look at things that accidentally work online as par for the course...it's the codes that are designed from the start to work online that we really frown upon.
Kudos to the original hacker for keeping the scoreboard real.
BTW, you should check out Gecko.NET. It's sort of an update to WiiRDGUI. Link in my sig.
ok a link in your sig...i'll check it but i already have gecko.net ;D but i'm unsure if i have the latest version o.o current version i have is 'Beta 0.63'
EDIT: lol....same place i downloaded from so nvm yep i have the latest version i guess but thanks anyways xD i think i'm going to keep a notepad database of all the codes i make on my computer :P to be honest i want to make a few useful codes for fire emblem....
Yeah, I use an OpenOffice word document to keep track of my notes while I hack. I prefer it to Notepad in case I want to take a screenshot.
If you write codes and post them to the Support forum for the right region, PM me the codes and I can give you Hacker status.
but dude that makes me think...if i post codes there will the public be able to see them? or just mods like you? basically i'm thinking about my score multiplier hack :p but i can post different codes
EDIT: ok um not to get too off topic like we seem to be doing but i just thought i would point out....thanks xD because my questions i originally had when i made the first post are answered now so tyvm :cool:
Yes, the general public can see codes posted in the support forum. If you don't want a code to be released, you can PM it to a mod. But do try to release some codes. ^_^
lol alright well DUDE this may seem just a tad strange but um ur a mod u saw my code ;D hint hint LOL but nevermind that i'm going to try and make some codes like i mentioned earlier for fire emblem :P good game but some codes i used in the GBA games i would like to see on the wii so i'll become a great contributer to the wii hackers community YOU WILL ALL SEE!! ;D (i just registered today *cough* )
Yeah, I saw that one, but you need to hack a few (like, five or more). I'm sure you'll do just fine.
Also...did you test your hack out on more than one level? Codes in MEM2 generally require some sort of pointer or ASM method because they might move around.
Yea i tested the score multiplier on multiple levels it worked just fine :P also i made an infinite lives code and an infinite bombs code and also found the value for what drone helper you are currently using but it must have other addresses that determine the drone because i couldnt change the drone mid-level the address i found was 9230B3E8 is it even ok to post the inf lives/bombs codes? geometry wars is pretty much only for the high score online anyways.... and they could be used to get a high score unfairly
EDIT: is it bad to go too off topic? i mean my question was already answered XD so like....il make some more codes and then just post em elsewere like you said...on the wii support forum for that game :p
EDIT: also does this website forum do the whole "close thread" thing?
EDIT: lol it's been quite some time since i updated my list of codes from the site and it seems some of the codes i was going to make have already been made for fire emblem so i'll take a look at a different game
