okay i have a problem with a few of my DVD-R disc. :(
for some reason, when i used an unused one it already contain something in it that i cant delete. and when i format it whatever files are in it is still there.
i need help how to get rid of it. thanks in advance :p
DVD-R aren't rewritable, they can only have data written to them once.
As matt123337 said, DVD-R can only be written to ONCE.
If you want to be able to re-use DVDs, then you need to use DVD-RW. With this sort you can write to it and then "format" the disc in preperation of writing new data to it.
Keep in mind, though, that DVD-RW can only be re-written to a certain amount of times. After this, the DVD won't "format" properly and you'll need to use new media.
The DVD-R that you have already used cannot be used again.
Well that's stupid >:(
so i guess that what the -R means right?
burned DVD's will hit your wii laser....
Yep, that's what the -R/+R is about.
Also, recordable media killing off your lens unit is, I think, primarily down to the reflectivity of the disc.
High quality media with certain dyes will be easier to read and produce less strain on your unit.
RW discs will have a lesser reflectivity, due to the nature of the disc, I believe.
my lazor is fine i don't have any wii dvd reading related problems. although i do use dvd - r for wii games.(and gecko) ^-^
