Title: How to launch Gecko OS/Gecko dotnet on wii ware games?
Post by: Nutmeg on July 24, 2010, 07:23:02 AM
I have a USB Gecko and I know how to use it.  I want to hack a wii ware game called, "Water Warfare."  I downloaded it legally off of the wii shop channel.  I installed it as a channel on the wii menu.  Now, my question is, "How should I launch my channel from Gecko OS?"

Specs:

-Gecko OS 1.9.3
-wii menu 4.2U
-I have not done any modifications to IOS's.

My first problem is that I don't know how to choose the option to launch a channel off of Gecko OS.  Am I using the correct version of Gecko OS?  How should I launch the channel?

-Thanks

If you haven't done any modifications to IOS, then you will need to patch IOS36 in order to launch channels through GeckoOS.  On 4.2, this can be done by using a program like DOP-Mii to downgrade IOS15, and then patch IOS36.  Try this post, and the post below it, to understand how to patch IOS36 with DOP-Mii...

Also, it will probably be easier to do this if you have an internet connection for the Wii.  Otherwise, you will likely need to download IOS files with the NUS Downloader (http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/NUS_Downloader).
