Hello i downloaded The home brew channel the other day (im kinda new :S ??? ???)
When i clicked on the gecko Os option on the home brew channel it would go to a black screen and freeze. I went onto the home brew browser i downloaded another Gecko Os and that works!! now i need to know how to put codes on it!! I want to hack Accf but i want to keep my file at the same time is that possible? :D thankkksss!! O0 ^-^ :-* ::) 8) ;D ;) :)
You can get codes from the following site...
http://www.geckocodes.org (http://www.geckocodes.org)
You will need to navigate to the proper version of your game. Here are the code pages for the NTSC and PAL versions of Animal Crossing: City Folk...
http://www.geckocodes.org/index.php?c=RUUE01 (http://www.geckocodes.org/index.php?c=RUUE01) - NTSC
http://www.geckocodes.org/index.php?c=RUUJ01 (http://www.geckocodes.org/index.php?c=RUUJ01) - JAP
http://www.geckocodes.org/index.php?c=RUUP01 (http://www.geckocodes.org/index.php?c=RUUP01) - PAL
You need make sure to select the correct region of your game, or the codes may not work as stated.
First, on the root of your SD card, create a folder named "codes." This is where the code files will be placed.
On the code page, you will see options near the top of the page, which say "txt" and "GCT." Click on "GCT," and you will come to a new page. Next, click on "Add Codes," which is found in the gray box, next to "Cancel," and place a check mark next to any codes that you want to use. Then click on "Download GCT," which can be found near the top and bottom of that page, and select to save the GCT file to the "codes" folder on the root of your SD card.
Start GeckoOS through the Homebrew Channel, insert your game, and the codes that you selected should be applied.
In addition, you can also click on "txt" on the main code page, which is to the left of the "GCT" option, and download the file. After that, you could use the Wii Cheat Code Manager (http://wiird.l0nk.org/dl/codemgr1.1.zip) to load the TXT file, select the codes that you want, and generate the GCT file that way. The Wii Cheat Code Manager will create a "codes" folder on the root of your SD card, if it is not already there.
I'm guessing that it is possible to keep your save file, but I do not have this game, so I can't say for sure. You might want to backup your save file before using any codes.
If you choose to go the route of manually copying the GCT file over to the SD card, I highly suggest the homebrew app FTPii. It creates an FTP server on the Wii. You can then connect to that FTP server with an FTP client like FileZilla. This will allow you to move files to and from the SD card without removing it from the Wii.
THANKS!!! Just a few more questions!!
so what will animal crossing lets go to the city need??
and i have no idea how to back up my save file :L thanks :DDDD!!
What System Menu are you on? You can check this by pressing the Wii button on the bottom left-hand corner of the screen, and selecting "Wii Settings." On the first page, the System Menu version will appear on the top right-hand corner.
Apparently, Animal Crossing: Let's Go to the City is the name for the PAL version of the game. The code page for the PAL version of the game can be found here...

To backup your save file, the following instructions may work...
Source: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/data.jsp#SDcopy (http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/data.jsp#SDcopy)
QuoteTo copy Save Data to an SD Card
1. Insert a compatible SD Card (http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/sdCards.jsp#purchase) into the SD Card slot on the front of the Wii console, just below the disc drive.
2. From the Wii menu, select the "Wii Settings" icon on the bottom left of the screen.
3. Select "Data Management," then "Save Data," and select the "Wii" tab to display all Save Data.
4. Select the file you wish to copy, and select "Copy."
5. Select "Yes" to "Copy to SD Card."
Please note that while most game save files can be copied, some titles -- particularly those that have online play -- may not allow for the copying of save files to an SD Card.
I don't believe that this will work for the Animal Crossing save file, however. If the above doesn't work for it, you will need to use homebrew programs to attempt to backup the save file. Two such programs are the Savegame Manager MOD (http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/Savegame_Manager/Savegame_Manager_MOD) and the Rebooter function of GeckoOS. That feature of GeckoOS requires that an IOS has ES_Identify. Depending on your System Menu, you might need to patch IOS36 to be able to save the file. I'm not sure if the Savegame Manager MOD will work on all System Menus or not, but I doubt that it works on the newer versions.
Also, do not update to the 4.3 System Menu (http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/System_Menu_4.3) at this time. It is not really possible to patch IOS36 on that System Menu at this time. In addition, it will also delete the Homebrew Channel.
I have 4.3E
When you last updated, did you do it officially through Nintendo?
You stated in your first post that you have the Homebrew Channel. If you have the 4.3 System Menu, then your Homebrew Channel should have been deleted. It probably doesn't matter, but you may want to check that again. If you are on 4.3E, then check to see if your Homebrew Channel is still there.
If you are on 4.3E and do not have the Homebrew Channel, then you will need to use Indiana Pwns (http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/Indiana_Pwns) to run homebrew applications. The Smash Stack (http://www.wiibrew.org/wiki/Smash_Stack) will not work on the 4.3 System Menu.
Also, run the HackMii Installer (http://www.bootmii.org/download/) through the Homebrew Channel (if you have it), and it should generate a file called "installer.log" on the root of your SD card. Copy and paste, or place a download link, to that file here. That will help to determine what to do next. It will also allow us to determine your probable System Menu version. In addition, if you didn't update officially, and are on 4.3, then run it through Indiana Pwns to get that file instead. I apologize, as I should have asked this first.
When i Downloaded homebrew i had 4.3E xxx
Hmm...do you have the Homebrew Channel installed? If you are on 4.3E, then the Homebrew Channel should have been deleted the first time that the System Menu was loaded.
Regardless, run the HackMii Installer through either the Homebrew Channel or Indiana Pwns, and post the "installer.log" file here.
Yup, I installed AFTER the Update :)
Thanks
and does anyone have codes 4 my pet hotel (Except unlimited cash) thanks!! O0 O0 O0 O0 ^-^ ^-^ ^-^ >:D >:D :-*
I bet you actually only have 4.2. The Hackmii Installer can't install HBC on 4.3 yet.
