ive used the trucha bug restorer and i could use codes on VC games finally and use them on newer wii games lik TvC
but it wont work for ALL my games still (and some games codes dont work while others do like: two codes are on that dont cancel the other but one dosnt work)
my wii is first generation and is NTSC

Regardless, to the original poster, are you using the correct codes for your region? Have you tried different codes for the game? I don't believe that the signing and ES_Identify bugs have anything to do with applying codes to disc based games. I thought the ES_Identify bug only applied to the Rebooter and channel loading. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, though.
1.i am using correct codes for my region (or at least i SHOULD be. i shall check on that)
2.well yeah the restorers main purpose was for the load channel problem but when it also fixed it so i could use wii codes again for newer games like TvC
or NSMBWii all but limited.
im even limited in what codes work on VC gams like kirby 64
