Ok.. new version.. quite a few internal things have changed.
For beginning user changes:
GUI:
-vdappc update by me - supports more ASM instructions - see http://l0nk.org/vdappc-new.png
-none productive but hopefully all bugs fixed
Console:
-added support for hooks
Main change:
-instruction documents up to date
-console now Linux compatible with FPC compiler!
-Source code for console public
Downloads:
http://wiird.l0nk.org/dl/wiird0.9.1.zip --> Windows version ready to use: includes code type document and console instructions
http://wiird.l0nk.org/dl/src0.9.1.zip --> Source code of the WiiRd console including compilation instructions - compiles with Delphi on Windows and with FPC on Linux!
http://wiird.l0nk.org/dl/gecko-interface0.9.1.zip --> USB Gecko interface used in the current WiiRd build - main change: compiles using FPC in Linux!
http://wiird.l0nk.org/dl/src-vdappc.zip --> VDAPPC sources.. as vdappc itself is freeware and open-source I considered it would be correct to also put our adjusted versions online!
thanks very much Link. I shall replace the version on the site, and announce.
Thank you for a New Version:irule:
There is one Problem.
"]" Adheres when Code Names are 2bytes.
The OS that I use is "Windows Vista".
This OS might be a Cause:cry
In Addition, the Inside does not have any Problem:irule:
You cant do a Pointer in pointer search no more.
Well i cant.
Uh...Zelda TP is freezing now when I open WIIRD...yup...checked again...I'll go back to the old version...thanks anyway Link
@shark2003:
Do you have the US version of TP? Because it's always froze for me...
Yeah...but it never froze before unless I poked into a wrong address or I have noticed with some games if you click Apply Codes more than once it will freeze the game.
@memorris : oops I forgot to make it avaible when one used the "dump" button :/ I'll send the fix to Link. Meanwhile you can just click the 'file 2' button and select the file, it should enable the pointer in pointer search.
A problem I've noticed with this new version is on the Memory Viewer section, if you click "ASCII" for Display Type, the 4-byte sets with 00's will get pushed to the opposite side. (Ex: "464D0000" will appear as " . . FM", "46004D00" will appear as " . F . M", etc.)
While it might be just me, and not that big of a deal, I didn't have the problem with the last version, so I figured I'd point it out.
Link, will there be a fix for Zelda TP? The game just freezes now anytime I launch Wiird. Its also doing the same now with the old version of WIIRD and it wasnt doing this before I tried the update.
This version is terribly buggy, I have to use the old one.
Whenever I use the memory viewer, it sits there saying "Dumping File" forever (and my game continues to run).
In the search input box, pressing left moves the indicator right, and pressing right moves the indicator left. Highlighting behaves similar.
The pointer finder doesn't seem to work at all. It fails to find several pointers that I found myself doing 32 bit searches.
Like the memory viewer, other functions seem to almost randomly get the program stuck dumping the file, such as pointer scanning or searching for codes, or even breakpoints.
I am running it on windows vista. The old version does not have any of these problems.
Hi,Link
PM was Sent and Confirm it, Please.:irule:
I found my way around the Zelda TP problem,I just simply used Ocarina for codes and everything works great! Hope that some of these "Weird",pardon the pun, Wiird problems get resolved, its a great program and I appreciate you guys creating it.
Okay, download link is again updated.. this time several fixes were added.

Yeah, it's a new compiler.. sorry but we kinda have to switch, on Vista/2008 x64 the app isn't even starting - on XP/2003 x64 it works, noone of us expected it not to work at all on Vista x64 :(

-Fixed

Fixed.. was chinese (right to left) input, a new feature by the compiler which it enabled itself.

Hm.. that's strange. I just fixed a few things I meantioned above and I just tried the pointer search on a known pointer in Mario Galaxy.. and well I was able to find a known pointer.
Does it find:
-wrong pointers?
-not all pointers the old version finds?
-no pointers?
Edit: did a comparison for old WiiRd GUI and new one.. they found exactly the same pointers in case of Mario Galaxy.. the correct pointer was among them so maybe the problem fixed itself!
i have updated it also in the download section.
I am on win xp sp1 and on 32bit.
USB Gecko is about 13 feet from me and I use 15 ft usb cable.
I just tried this newest version. It still loops and take cpu :(
It don't let me change tabs or click on the buttons.
I kill wiirdgui by taskmgr and I can't kill wiirdw32.exe in taskmgr with anything.
Does this change the footprint size of WiiRD in the Wii's RAM at all? Specifically, does it effect where Ocarina (which uses WiiRD) starts the code list in the game header?
(It may corrupt my Zelda TP USA v2 Master Code if it does, that is why I ask) :)
The newest version seems to be fine in regards to my last post.
My only gripe now is, could we please get a minimize button and make it not always on top?
Isn't there a "minimize" button on the bottom of the wiirdgui console ? I used stay on top because I usually have a lot of windows open, and it was a pain to search for wiirdgui window all the time. Also I believe that if the gui isn't on the top, it would have problems communicating with wiird (but I might have to test it again).
@mouse : and the old wiird works fine ? If not, try another (smaller?) cable, check all the connections...
I don't suppose for the next update there could be a "copy to clipboard" to go with the "paste from clipboard" button? Sometimes it gets annoying having to copy a code a half line at a time to post it on the boards - especially when I make something like a 70 line super code:confused
If you wanna post a code, you just have to open the cheats folder, all the cheats are in a text file.
Maybe I could put a 'open cheat file' button, which would open the text file with notepad ?
What would the best version for me to have be, as I want it to be compatible with TP?
I currently have the version before the latest one.

Indeed there is, I must be blind. Thanks.
Hi Link.
I thought: why doesn't Link put an 'always on top' option on WiiRD? I think it's boring that wiird window always on top and I'm too lazy to click the minimize button... :)
Thanks for your hard work....
New version see first post!
The Always on Top option was set by kenobi not by me.. the current version still has it, maybe we just give you the option.
Hi Link the files in the first post could not be found.

Thank you, my DNS setting was faulty and therefore they worked here.. and only here. Now they should!
It would be cool if there was a function to arrange the addresses found with the codesearch by old value or new value, instead of address. so if you click on the text "old value" above the old values it arranges them by old value. :D
Because the way wiirdgui is coded, it's not possible to sort by old values (or new values).
The code values are not stored into memory, they are readen by wiirdguy "on the fly" from the ram dump each time a new page of the codesearch is displayed. So I can't sort the results by code value.
However, if you're searching for a specific value, make a known search.
Then if you want to try another value, just click the "undo" button, and make another specific value search.
a function to save the codes in //folder of wiird/saves/[gamecode]/"name you type in a inputbox".bin
instead of just save01, so you can find them later, and you know what each save is, and form wich game
Is WiiRD still being worked on?
I like it but it is prone to crashing(WiiRD crashes alot not the game, maybe just me),
If it is, what are some of the new features coming out?
WiiRd is in some form of development.. and well, several crashes are known but unfortunately really hard to fix as they often have their cause in the USB Gecko drivers which are sometimes very hard to have control on. The features.. currently none really, a watch list perhaps!
Awesome, i would just like to suggest a hex-float converter built into wiird.
P.S
Does anyone know if nuke is still working on GeckoOS or that new project he talked about? I havent seen much of him lately.
Are there any releases that support LoZ: TP USA RZDE02 codes now?

A watch list would be nice... for the record though, I've decided my tunneler project doesn't need a watch list built into the code handler; I've found ways around the major overhead of peeking several different addresses. Adding it to the PC app would be very nice though. And if you think there's a market for adding it to the code handler, by all means feel free to do that. Although now my project kind of wants as many lines of code as possible... so if you think adding something to the code handler would be good, it would be awesome if you found some way of making that feature optional (e.g. having a "normal" and a "debug" code handler).
Sorry if I'm rambling, just don't feel any pressure from me for a code-handler-implemented watch list. At least for now, anyway. :)
