Maybe it's just me or something, but does this happen with everybody else?
My specs are:
HBC 1.06 (or whatever's the latest version)
Wii System Menu 3.2U (Haven't updated it since I installed HBC)
Gecko 1.9.3.1
I boot up Gecko OS in HBC, but sometimes instead of taking me there, it black screens and the Wiimote connection goes off.
Any reason as to why this happens?
Thanks
This happens to me sometimes, but if i keep trying it works and loads up fine. Btw I'm on 4.2e
I just know there's like a 1/5 or so chance that when I boot it up, it will black screen me. Then when power off the Wii (Either with the button or brute force with the plug) and boot it again, it works... usually.
I am on 3.0U, and experience this problem when running various applications through the Homebrew Channel. If I keep restarting the Homebrew Channel and trying again, it will eventually load the application(s), though. It was mentioned on the bug page of the HackMii website...

I usually use a GameCube controller when navigating the Homebrew Channel, so I can't say as to whether or not my Wii Remote connection goes out.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that I also have the latest version of the Homebrew Channel.
Waiting a bit to load up then? Okay, I'll give that a shot.
When you start HBC, there's two icons in the lower-right corner. One of them indicates that HBC is connected to the Internet, the other indicates that HBC is connected to a USB Gecko. Try waiting until those icons are steady before launching Gecko OS...perhaps it is possible that HBC is communicating with the USB Gecko and when you select Gecko OS it interrupts the communication.
Interrupting the connection to the Gecko will cause a crash too? Interesting...
That's purely speculation on my part. I don't know one way or the other.
I get the occasional crash (freeze on black screen without any sound) if I try to load the Homebrew channel too fast. I've personally found that, like others have stated, if you wait a short moment after booting the Wii then it won't crash.
Same applies with GeckOS and any other app. Just give it a little moment before loading each part.
I still end up rushing through it all and getting a crash though lol Don't want to wait - need to hack :p
I guess it's mostly pure speculation if everybody has random crashes. Thanks guys.
