Title: Hook Wiird when using GC Launcher?
Post by: memememememe on April 10, 2010, 09:49:03 AM
I have just dug up some of my old GC games and begun reminiscing and thought i would love to play them again but the disks had no covers and had gotten scratched. So i downloaded some of my games and burnt them to a CD and because my wii is softmoded i got the GC launcher. So i figured why not use my new USB Gecko. That's where my problem arose, how can i hook the Gecko to the game through the GC Launcher. I tried using it through Neogamma but it wouldn't hook but when i use the rebooter function it hooked but when i launched the HBC and started the GCL it wouldn't work. Any ideas?

Wel, I may not be a Programmer, but aren't the GC-Games supposed to be on DVD-R?

Trekkie: this is an old thread, and presumably since the game booted but didn't hook, he was using DVD-R like he was supposed to.

memememememe: I assume you already found your answer by now, but for others wondering, there is currently no publicly released app for hooking GC backups.  It's not an impossible problem, but it's a lot of work, and most of the hackers out there are more interested in Wii games and/or improving USB loading than in hooking GC backups.  That said, this forum is not really the place to ask about backups; it's not our area of expertise.  Try one of the many forums out there that specialize in backups.
