Title: Shiren The Wanderer [RFSEEB]
Post by: hackysack on March 02, 2010, 08:21:13 PM
Thank you very much for the codes, however I am having some problems with the item codes. I pick weapons or shields and can set their bonus points but they do not have their seals nor their standard possible increase values.

Example: I use 137 to pick Gaze Shield but what I get is a Gaze Shield in title that doesn't have the Gaze seal or an open seal at all, it's just empty space there. Also without using the points modifier code, what the shield has is it's natural 7 points but says zero possible + points (when it should say 35)

Is there an additional value I'm supposed to be adding in the item or +point modifier codes to account for the seals or is this simply the result of forcing an item into the inventory?

Just a note, if you sort in new "forced" items inside a dungeon, they show up as unidentified (in yellow text) but they're always the exact same once identified (which makes sense)

Any help is appreciated.

I found out how to add empty skill slots and how to add in an actual skill to the first slot just now with some lucky stabs in the dark (got slots on first try! took six more tests to find value to fill first slot)

just add 10 and 20 (in hex) to the item mod first value:

Item Mod -1- [Skiller]
02C91A18 000000??

Item skill -1- [hacky]
02C91A22 0000000?

Item slots -1- [hacky]
02C91A2C 0000000?

Item + Points -1- [Skiller]
02C91A40 0000????

If you paste this into the code and use 4 and 4 you'll get 4 slots and the first slot will be filled with "cyclops slayer"

I think maybe if you change the second value in the skill to 1 - 57 you will get weapon skills (the japanese wiki lists 57 weapon skills and 40 shield skills) However I'm posting this after just the first six tests due to all the swapping and stuff I must do since I'm not a hacker and am only modifying what's going into the .gct.

I will spend a couple more hours tonight trying some more tests to fill in more skills and maybe bork up some things.
test 1: added 1 to item mod first value, filled second value with "2" and it borked up the slots

test 2: added bonus points to item, worked fine (item inherent still says zero max bonus which screws up merging items TO it, but will carry over what it can if merged TO something else)

test 3: added 60 to item mod first value, filled second value with "1" NO EFFECT

test 4: added 30 to item mod first value, filled second value with "1" NO EFFECT

test 5: try multiple items with additional slots, picked armband and another pickaxe
Item slots -2- [hacky]
02C91BB4 0000000?

Item slots -3- [hacky]
02C91D3C 0000000?
...WORKS FINE

Post Merge: March 05, 2010, 04:37:17 AM

added one more to the first value of the skill slot and gave it's second value a 1 leaving the first skill at 4 the result had just one skill "rust ward" which is skill 1 so that value over-rides the previous one...I didn't want to change my copy/paste so I went back to the original value for further testing:

using a new skill "C" which is "infinity" and prevents other skills from breaking item, I tried two merging attempts:
when merged to a pickaxe, "infinity" skill moves to second slot on resulting pickaxe behind pickaxe's inherent skill (dig through walls but can break)

When a naginata is merged to it, "infinity" skill moves to second slot on resulting item, however bonus points added in .gct do not vanish, they remain, but second item (naginata) does not pass along it's bonus points...

haha, thank you, I see the page looks kinda messed up but lots more for the slots and stuff! good deal. I don't know 8bit and 16bit, I only know what I saw on that page, and that the value between the item choice (first 8 digits) and the value of the bonus max (first 8 digits) was 40 units off from each other so I was just going to try the 39 possible values that were between them...

LOL, I posted and wasted so much time. I see you have already listed all the effect digits! how nice! I will try these tomorrow when I get up.

This is why you are a hacker and I am just a hack!

thank you again.

00 to 23 are weapon skills, 24 to 39 are shield skills, 3A to 5C are armband skills.
-if the skill symbol is written in white it's effects stack with itself. If it's in black it does not stack. If symbol is written in yellow it has chance to break the weapon (if using such a skill, make sure to also use "sturdy" which prevents those skills from breaking your weapon!)

00 = Nothing
01 = Rusty Ward
02 = Dragon Slayer
03 = Ghost Slayer
04 = Cyclops Slayer
05 = Drainer Slayer
06 = Bomb Slayer
07 = Aqua Slayer
08 = Gadget Slayer
09 = Floater Slayer
0A = Excavator - walls are destructible, but weapon may break
0B = Disarm - destroy traps, tiles, and items, but weapon may break

1E = Feeble - may reduce attack of foes
1F = Degrader - the weapon grows weaker after each successful strike
20 = Leech - restores a small amount of HP with each successful attack

Also, in the code section, you have preset 12 skill slots which is probably the natural maximum for items in the game or at least what it will account for. Skills on the correct equipment do all indeed work as advertised so far in my testing. Skills on incorrect equipment do not work.

However, also in the code section, you have preset 12 as the max + bonus points but I think that could be manipulated because I have found shields and swords in the game that have natural max + bonus points up to 50 so far.

Sequel to this thread: http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php/topic,5235.0.html

How do I use the item modifier codes correctly? I am trying to get 4 Bulky Shields with one seal: Binge (which it comes with ingame) but every time I use the code, it gets the Bulky Shields with no seals at all and when I press left/right in the info, it glitches the position of the item description.

That last thread did not help at all; can someone give step-by-step instructions telling just how I am supposed to use these codes?

BTW, I want these so that I can make the Satori Shield. I already have one Bulky Shield with an extra slot.

Don't make a new thread if one already exists please.

In regards to this game however:

You need to first put the item you want in the slot, then you have to alter the code for the seal slot.

Just changing the Item slot to the Item you want will not create it with the Seals you want.

I don't recall the rest of the details for this however.

http://wiird.l0nk.org/forum/index.php/topic,5103.0.html

Might be able to help.

I tried to enter the seal code, but it didn't work back then. (I got the Satori Shield, now I want the Karakuroid Shield, which has the Elusive seal.)

Is there a specific way I have to use the seal code?

Please give an example for a Karakuroid Shield with the Elusive seal.
